Senior Manager, Brand Communications, APAC (Contract)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


In this role, you will play an integral part in building the adidas brand as the best brand in culture in APAC through innovative story-telling and inspirational brand exposure for the Originals, Partnerships and Basketball categories. You will launch campaigns by leading campaign planning process and creation of campaign content toolkits. You will partner closely with global, country & clusters and APAC cross-functional teams to bring these campaigns to life and ensure excellent execution in line with brand guidelines. As part of the APAC Go-To-Market (GTM) milestones, you will support Originals, Partnerships and Basketball brand comms deliverables.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver creative market activation plans to credibly connect with consumers in the Originals and Basketball categories in APAC
  • Foster strong relationships and partner with the country clusters teams, global team and APAC cross-functional team to drive an integrated brand strategy and execution for Originals and Basketball
  • Lead the interaction with global Comms teams as the key contact for campaign development & execution, toolkit creation request and seasonal category calendar
  • Manage the rollout of several collaborations and partnerships such as adidas x Gucci, Ivy Park and Pharrell Williams, as well as amplification and cascade of activation plans to country & cluster teams.
  • Support country & cluster teams in local campaign development and provide guidance and sign off, as well as alignment with global team
  • Lead planning, creation and budget management of APAC campaign activation and toolkits
  • Establish clear communication and drive smooth campaign process with country cluster brand communication teams for execution
  • Develop category handover tool to support successful sell in, including guidance on key seasonal stories and brand activation plan

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent communicator with strategic and brand-building mindset
  • A self-starter, pro-active and looking for ways to break creative boundaries
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, strong project management and time management skills
  • Result-oriented and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Strong team player and ability to influence at all levels, including senior stakeholders, across functions and geographies
  • Clear understanding and interest in APAC Originals cultural landscape and consumer
  • High level of integrity, as well as trustworthy and reliable


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 6+ years experience in brand building marketing role (international brands and/or advertising agencies)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of brand communication marketing mix (media, events, influencers, retail, PR) with a major global brand or retailer (sporting goods/ lifestyle/FMCG/luxury industry preferred)
  • Knowledgeable on APAC trends across fashion and lifestyle
  • Experience managing external agencies, partners and vendors
  • Experience in both market and above market organization preferred
  • University Degree or above, preferably in a marketing or communications related discipline.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken), additional knowledge of Asian language is a plus
