Senior Manager, Digital Publishing - Key City NYC


Deliver the adidas message to the consumer through publishing via owned and paid social, creating engaging content, innovation opportunities and advertising experiences which drive conversation both one to one and at scale, and connecting them to adidas’ wider digital world – via adidas.com, own Retail and the adidas app – with a multi-cultural, NYC lens.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the key city digital publishing strategy across owned channels and paid social according to the global brand and category calendars.  Ensure best in class consumer journies by connecting social media experiences to adidas digital platforms
  • Content Strategy: Build and shape clear expectations for content development, publishing & distribution across relevant channels and the adidas digital ecosystem
  • Content guidance: Drive and manage content production to support the global digital publishing strategy and global brand, category and key city calendars.   
  • Collaboration: Support the creation of annual plans with key partners across EIM, Sports Marketing and Brand Communications to support wider business goals. Work with Key City Newsrooms to maximize the publishing mix for all campaigns across owned, earned and paid channels across PR and Partner Publishing.
  • Provide guidance to creative and media agencies, collaborate with social platform partners and other external partners to achieve the global digital publishing strategy, key city social, and global brand/category/city calendars
  • Support end to end campaign planning, target setting, optimization, and execution across social media in partnership with internal teams such as eCommerce to achieve business goals
  • Proactively seek to better understand the key city audience, buying behavior, cultural trends and platform innovations to uncover insights that formulate brand/Market/Key City strategies that drive acquisition and engagement.
  • Manage adidas’ social communities and work with NYC team and Customer Service to ensure the best possible consumer experience and moderation on any social media touch point
  • Collaborate with Newsroom Head Office team –Digital Publishing, Public Relations, Partner Publishing, Analytics – to maximize the publishing mix for all campaigns across owned, earned and paid channels
  • Ensure all campaigns and content are fully optimized to support measurement and advanced analytics efforts
  • Education and Training: Create opportunities to educate those around you to raise the level of knowledge and understanding of digital publishing and its potential. Identify platform trends and consumer behavior and feed the insight back into digital publishing output and the wider team
  • Support the culture of the team with a focus on confidence, creativity and collaboration

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Keen understanding of the publishing mix: owned, earned and paid
  • Advanced project management
  • Advanced experience with all major social media networks: Facebook / Instagram, Google / YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat etc.
  • Naturally curious and motivated by the ever-changing world of digital and mobile
  • Broad understanding of and passion for the sports and fashion / entertainment industry
  • Advanced presentation and organizational skills
  • Understanding of the Editorial process
  • Copywriting skills


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Retail, Digital or a related field
  • 8+ years’ industry and / or relevant work experience
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills
