Senior Manager, Internal Controls & Profit Protection, Korea

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

Position is integral to the on-going success of the company for the sustainable growth, leading & enhancing Internal Controls, Profit Protection, Corporate Governance and Business Continuity Plan in all areas of Korea with assurance and compliance audits it aims at

 

Proactively identifying internal control risks and leading risk reduction initiatives. Responsible for working with management to identify opportunities for improvement, and redesign processes to meet the needs of a complex and growing business
Protecting and maximizing profit by addressing all aspects of risk and loss related to the company compliance and physical assets of the retail business (e.g. stock, cash on different premises), including public and internal dishonesty, procedural failure, administrative error and wastage through initiation and execution of profit protection solutions.
Establishing tried and tested Business Continuity plans to ensure minimum disruption to the business
Responsibility as key member of local finance leadership team on key initiatives and decision for Korea finance division
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Internal Controls
Lead and develop Internal Controls of all functions of the Korea in alignment with GP & IC and local senior management team
Lead regular local ICS testing regarding key controls and heading remediation of all identified control deficiencies in collaboration with local Senior Management team
Design, develop, implement regular update of local policies (based on global policies if existing), procedures and related internal controls, based on best practices and Group requirements
Lead to raise awareness/maintain knowledge of the Global Policy Manual on local level incl. an understanding of emerging developments and addressing of recommended policy changes.
Plan risk-based process review/audit to identify internal control issues/improvement opportunities and follow up on remediation plan
Ensure Authorization Matrix is updated on a regular basis, boost awareness and compliance
Provide coordination and facilitation required by Corporate Internal Audit and ensure timely closure of audit issues 
 
Profit Protection
Proactively review, assess and identify risk within the Retail environment (DTC). Reduce and mitigate risk with the implementation of comprehensive risk reduction strategies and countermeasures.
Ensure a risk-based approach is adopted in store audit planning, audit plan is executed, remediating actions are followed by Retail Management and audit findings/status timely recorded
Monitor and manage retail shrinkage and loss of the company asset. Develop, recommend and implement comprehensive countermeasures to eliminate or minimize losses.
Ensure data analysis is performed using LUMI Data Analytics to identify exceptions and fraud indicators and initiate reviews / investigations / management reporting/follow up on improvement recommendations
Manage retail and eCommerce fraud investigations and reinforce internal controls and processes to prevent the risks identified during the investigation
Ensure retail incident is reported and managed according to group standard
Ensure compliance to physical security standards on all Own Retail locations within DTC
 
 
 
 
Business Continuity Plan
Ensure to develop and update Business Continuity Plan
Lead to update Business Impact Analysis on regular basis
Ensure BCP response structure is updated regularly for timely response and execution
 
 
Risk Management
As the Risk Coordinator maintain the Korea market’s risk register in line with Group Risk Management guidelines & requirements 
Continuously monitor existing and potential risk areas and verifying the adequacy and effectiveness of the handling strategy and/or implemented mitigating actions
 
 
People management
Managing, motivating and developing the subordinated employees in line with the company’s vision and strategy. Ensuring that the organizational structure and process are carried out efficiently in the area of responsibility 
 
 
KPI’s Risk & Internal Control Assessments, Shrinkage, Compliance improvement 
 
Authorities
Global Internal Audit findings and/or Local Internal Control Review gaps closing enforcement

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience of Internal Controls / Internal/External Audit / Risk Advisory - ideally in sporting goods, fast fashion or luxury goods industry
Internal investigations experience preferable
Strong auditing/internal control skills
Effective communication and team work skills
English language
Exposure: Finance, Investigations, Retail, Audit

 
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
CIA/CPA/CMA qualification preferred
University degree or tertiary education
Internal Audit/ Controls/ Profit Protection/Loss prevention qualification preferred
Functional: over 8~10 years professional experience
Leadership: min 5 years leadership of experts
Knowledge of SAP and POS system preferable
