Senior Manager, Supply Chain Development [6 months - Fixed Term]

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


The Senior Manager - Supply Chain Development works across three dimensions to design and implement changes to the supply chain that improve service, optimize flow, minimize waste and enable profitable sales growth. Firstly, this team listens to the ‘voice of the customer’ to deliver short-term improvements as well as long-term scale-up that benefit the entire customer-base. Secondly, they work closely with the wider organization to support new customer relationships and design solutions to best connect the supply chain to that of the customer. Thirdly, they investigate emerging trends in the industry/logistics landscape to recommend opportunities which drive innovation within the supply chain.


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Support Senior Leadership in establishing long-range objectives and definition of the supply chain strategy consistent with the Company's strategic plans and objectives. Make recommendations to influence supply chain strategies. Seek to optimize supply chain design to drive out costs, improve service and enable sales growth.
  • Manage projects to deliver short-term quick wins and proof of concept; including the following core tasks: Develop project requirements and business case, build alignment of stakeholders and project resources, construct timelines and deliverables, manage regular cadence meetings to keep project on time, influence others to deliver results, escalate risks and opportunities to leadership, document proven results and lessons learned, create and deliver clear presentations to all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct key analysis required to support strategy execution, support ongoing alignment of strategies and activities across the Europe SCM organization and act as interface for Market and SCM requirements, inputs and projects.
  • Drive solutions together with Market Operations & Optimization leads to improve collaboration between adidas and its wholesale customers. Gather business requirements, evaluate options for proposal and align internal stakeholders to agreed outcome. Review status on regular basis with Sales/Business Development leadership to assist in surfacing information and guidance for steering/decision-making.
  • Support the SVP Europe SCM in ad hoc issue resolution through coordinating solutions across the different functions of the Europe SCM team.
  • As new customers, programs and/or channels are on-boarded, partner with adidas internal business and supply chain teams (and external customer’s supply chain team where applicable) to establish ways of working, processes, and opportunities for collaboration and connectivity. Share expertise on existing supply chain network. Prepare Supply Chain teams to understand the specific needs of the new customer/channel/process, embed necessary routines into daily operations during start-up phase, and establish normalized routines thereafter.
  • Effectively build and manage virtual teams of partners within Supply Chain and other functions. Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with partners in all levels in the organization to balance priorities and resources to deliver results.
  • Be a visibly supportive and active team member, creating an inspiring environment for others and enabling development and growth. Demonstrate peer leadership and support of peers when there is workload imbalance or extra collaboration required.
  • Research emerging trends inside and outside the Sportswear industry and evaluate/recommend opportunities which drive innovation. Work cross-functionally to create the business case which supports the innovation and work with stakeholders to align scope and return requirements. Review & benchmark global Supply Chain best practices in all adidas markets with the aim in sharing knowledge and reviewing strategy on a regular basis. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical skills, managing data from multiple sources and synthesize the complex data to develop innovative solutions
  • Project Management, lean six-sigma certification. Discipline in planning time management and organization skills
  • End-to-end mindset, big picture view of problems at hand
  • Change Management skills of influencing network of stakeholders
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially MS Excel, Access skills preferred
  • Solid presentation and storytelling skills


Requisite Education and Qualifications: 

  • University degree in Business Administration / Finance / Controlling / Logistics 
  • Minimum 5-6 years of relevant work experience in MNC environment (e.g. top tier consulting, project management, apparel/fashion, or supply chain management, background)
  • Within which 1-2 years of relevant project leadership, team management experiences
  • PMP and Lean Sigma certification preferred
