Senior Manager Big Data

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

The Sr. Manager- Big Data Analytics would be responsible for developing and scaling data solution and products to help transform Greater China business to a more data driven organization. This includes also the alignment and implementation of the advanced analytics and big data initiatives amongst key functional areas within the Market.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • As a senior member of the Data and Analytics team, brings exceptional domain expertise to identify and create advanced analytics and big data solutions to functional (marketing, CTC, sales. Etc.) requirements of the business.
  • Represents Data and Analytics within the Market and is part of the DNA Team, coordinating with other functional and channel analytics/ BI teams and business partners.
  • Work in alignment with market and functional priorities, business strategies and objectives, and identifies the contribution advanced analytics and big data practice can make to those business objectives
  • Help in drive success through data product and solutions to help mindset change to become a data driven company by creating awareness and education about data, tools and the power of advanced analytics
  • Lead the development and presentation business cases as per the identified priorities and initiatives within DNA team
  • Lead the prioritization of cross-functional insights needs to fully leverage the power of data.
  • If needed, Lead and direct the initiation of global projects and roll-out of global standards to Markets
  • Ensures Advanced Analytics and scalable data product adoption within the Market.
  • Takes ownership for project delivery and act as a subject matter expert in advanced analytics and big data product creation
  • Help drive up-skilling and training of larger DNA community within the China business.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • High degree of commercial and business acumen
  • Hands on experience in advanced analytics, Machine Learning and data science open-source platforms such as R and Python along with DW platforms such as Hana, Hadoop etc.
  • Strong Project Management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • High degree of stakeholder orientation and appropriate prioritization
  • Strong ability to manage complex problems or situations. Ability to take and manage risks.
  • English language (fluent)

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

 

  • Masters/ PhD in any quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics etc.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of post-qualification professional experience in the described or and adjacent field with an established track record within any consumer (B2C) industry
  • Strong experience in managing strategic projects/programs and experience in engaging with senior management
  • Experience in leading data-driven transformations and/or advanced analytics projects
