Senior Manager Costing, Accessories & Gears

Purpose & Overall relevance for the organization:

Manage and drive the development and implementation of global costing frameworks for Accessories & Gears (A&G), tools and processes to optimize overall costing performance across all sourcing countries and suppliers, to maintain cost competitiveness and guide product creation to offer best possible value to the consumer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Material Costing:

  • Develop an optimized material costing process with the objective to achieve competitive & sustainable cost and stabilize the A&G Costing framework
  • Drive the effective application of the framework on a seasonal basis
  • Proactively collect information on economic drivers and market dynamics that may affect cost and take necessary steps for mitigation

Process & Systems

  • Business Process Ownership of Materials Costing in “Material Lifecycle Management” system (MLM) and drive continuous system improvement
  • Evaluate costing standards and coordinate enhancement projects driven by the Costing Managers in the Liaison Offices (LOs)

Reporting & Analytics:    

  • Drive development and implementation of advanced reporting and analytics tools, to increase transparency in costing, and to support future allocation decision-making
  • Provide costing leadership with insights on cost driver developments and supplier competitiveness using systematic costing and benchmarking methods, to enable Sourcing SMT’s fact-based decision making on future A&G Sourcing Allocation

Team: 

  • Develop and motivate the team through strong leadership and ensure the best standards of performance
  • Identify talent in the Global Costing Team and support the Director Costing in developing them to enable strong succession planning

  • A&G Product Operations Teams in HQ locations (Germany, China)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong business sense and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage diverse stakeholder group
  • Good leadership skills in multi-national environment
  • Good understanding of sporting goods and/or related industries
  • Advanced knowledge of standard Software applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage complex projects
  • Fluent in English

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical degree with major focus in manufacturing & project management
  • At least 7 years work experience, preferably in an analytical position in a manufacturing or sourcing environment, preferably with experience in people management
  • Regional costing experience is a benefit
