Senior Manager Credit EE (m/f/d) - Warsaw




The EE Senior Manager of Credit works with the main purpose to monitor and reduce the credit risk and A/R write-offs to a minimum, and at the same time supervise the administration of sales contracts, maintenance of financial and commercial agreements by providing leadership to the Credit Department of 7 countries making up East Europe (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia) and to support the organizational business strategy on EE level.


Key Accountabilities


  • Management of credit risk for Key Accounts, Field Accounts, Buying Groups and Promotion Customers for EE
    • Formulate credit policies, procedures and practices governing overall credit operations, based on Europe/GBS guidelines
    • Perform credit investigations to determine a credit rating and terms for prospective accounts.
    • Continuously monitor the development of credit limits and customers’ credit-worthiness.
    • Stop deliveries in case of potential insolvency or overdue situation of customers.
    • Block customers in case of insolvency and /or legal cases.
    • Ensure that the write-offs of receivables will be kept to a minimum.
    • Ensure compliance with established/ approved credit risk policies and procedures and ensure that a sound environment for measuring, monitoring and controlling credit risk is in place.
    • Ensure deployment of state-of-the-art tools/ systems to facilitate monitoring of the credit risk at product/ portfolio level.


  • Cash collection for EE
    • Guide/Supervise the Collection of debts, including cooperation with lawyer, collection agencies and insolvency administrator.
    • Manage disputes with customers.
    • Playing an active role in the credit note and returns handling.
    • Ensure speedy resolution of payment deductions and communication with Customer Service.
    • Agree payment schedules with customers.


  • Reporting and analysis for EE
    • Aging analysis.
    • Bad debts development.
    • Open item development.


  • Query & Customer Master data Management EE
    • Reflect, cascade and ensure application overall Trade Investment Policy into the Team.
    • Ensure the team is applying available adidas group standards, policies and procedures and best practices in daily work.
    • Coordinate a cross-functional communication between internal interfaces and her/his own team.
    • Secure proper Customer Master Data opening and maintenance.


  • Leadership of Credit Management Team in EE
    • Manage all direct reports as an integrated team by setting team/individual objectives, targets and guidelines.
    • Establish a performance culture in the department.
    • Develop & Train direct reports as per business needs and development plans.


  • Coordination of Credit projects EE
    • Coordinate along with the Finance Director EE all credit related projects
    • Lead the GBS transition and safeguarding the proper business partnership with all relevant stakeholders
    • Alignment on Credit Policy and Credit reporting on all EE countries



Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience


  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills
  • People Management experience (theory and practice)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams and in a matrix organization




  1. University degree or equivalent (preferably at postgraduate level in Finance).
  2. Minimum of 7 years progressive work experience in the field of Finance, with focus on Risk Management/ Credit Management; preferably in a multinational organization.
  3. Excellent Polish & English (written and oral).
  4. Advanced MS-Office skills
  5. SAP knowledge is a plus
