Senior Manager - Global Marketing Procurement - Creative & Digital Agencies

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Work in cooperation with the respective Category Director to support the development and execution of category practices for the respective category, including:

Creation of the global sourcing strategy definition, sourcing project execution and stakeholder alignment

Drive and support the Global sourcing execution

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align with stakeholders
    • Support the Director Marketing Procurement (Creative/Production) with the identification of stakeholders, initiation of the strategy development, as well as execution of sourcing projects
    • Actively engage with stakeholders as defined in alignment with the Director Marketing Procurement (Creative/Production) throughout the strategy development and sourcing execution process
    • Ensure that input from the stakeholders is considered in the sourcing execution process
  • Support sourcing
    • Support the Director Marketing Procurement (Creative/Production) in the analysis and definition of category spend baseline and category profile, incl. risk assessment and SRM strategy
    • Support development of Go-To-Market and negotiation strategies in alignment with the Director Marketing Procurement (Creative/Production) and ensure proper documentation
    • Provide support during the supplier screening and supplier selection process
    • Development of Rfx
    • Preparation of supplier communication packages
    • Prepare fact-based negotiation packages
    • Implementation plan
  • Perform sourcing management
    • Perform sourcing activities for projects with limited complexity
    • Manage the procurement strategy implementation/ sourcing execution for a less complex category
    • Drive supplier performance by, for example, discussing lessons learned from one market and making sure the supplier builds on those lessons learned to improve his service levels in another market
    • Execute end-to-end sourcing projects for less complex categories
    • Participate in internal and external analysis (industry & supplier) in collaboration with Director Marketing Procurement (Creative/Production)
    • Perform supplier selection and fact-based negotiations, validated by the Director Marketing Procurement (Creative/Production)
    • Involve the business for actions related to supplier base optimization, KPI implementation and follow up, etc.
    • Conduct spend map analysis to monitor spend and ensure all purchases follow the purchasing process
    • Continuously track forecasted vs. actual savings according to the Value Tracking Process for category in scope - define corrective/ optimization actions if needed and follow up (escalate to Director Marketing Procurement (Creative/Production), if needed) 
    • Manage key supplier relationships
    • Drive supplier collaboration by reviewing supplier performance and define action points on further collaboration
    • Drive supplier development by planning and executing improvement activities

 
Key Relationships:

  • Internal, inside the group : Executives, Department heads & Managers Finance heads and peer group Project Managers, Controlling, Legal Counsel
  • External, Creative Agencies, Digital Agencies + Production and Post Production suppliers

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge in sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts, business partnering and category management
  • Good knowledge of Procurement strategy development and conveyance
  • Strong knowledge of procurement tools and data, content and automation
  • Strong ability to analyze specifications and influence demand
  • Capability to independently interact throughout the adidas Group
  • Deep knowledge and experience in international projects and process management
  • Strong analytical, presentation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Action oriented and solution minded team player with high degree of self-management
  • Proficiency in MS Office and preferably SAP MM/ SRM
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
  • Travel of up to 20%
  • Experience in Marketing is a plus

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, marketing, procurement or legal, or comparable professional education
  • Minimum of 8 years’ professional experience in the same functional domain or other related positions, preferably knowledge of category at hand and working in an international environment; good experience with supplier selection, negotiation and contracting
