Senior Manager Group Procurement

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Ensure that commercial and business relationships and engagements with suppliers for all non-trade / indirect procurements in adidas Japan are handled according to policies and related best practices so that the sourced products and services will meet expectations of cost, quality and availability

 

Key Responsibilities:

Policy & Strategy

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, standards and guidelines
  • Develop and implement sourcing and supplier strategies with the business partners based on demand analysis

 

Strategic procurement

  • Lead arrangement and implementation of process to select suppliers from RfPs to contract authorization
  • Monitor process to qualify, approve and register suppliers
  • Resolve disputes and build business relationships effectively with suppliers
  • Lead process to review and evaluate existing suppliers for contract renewal / cancellation
  • Monitor standard P2P (Purchase to Pay) process as SRM (e-Purchasing system) process owner

 

Cost saving

  • Ensure transparency of spend and lead cost saving considering TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) in adidas Japan

 

Project management

  • Lead cross-functional teams for sourcing projects in adidas Japan

 

Procurement system

  • Ensure proper operation of procurement system (SRM / TRF)

 

Operation

  • Monitor daily operation of the team and judge execution of solutions for problems
  • Modefy procedures & processes based on existing standard/policy/strategy toward defined target

 

Team Management

  • Execute tactical plans based on organization strategy and significantly contribute to the achievement
  • Make day to day decision within the team
  • Set clear target and role & responsibility for team members and be accountable for performance reviews
  • Responsible for development of personnel

 

Authorities

  • Purchasing approval as Procurement manager through SRM for adidas Japan according to the adidas Japan approval authority guideline
  • Approval authority for vendor master registration

 

Key Relationships:

  • Internal: VP / Directors in relevant business functions and their direct reports
  • External, within supplier organization: Executives, Key Account Managers, Legal Council

  • Advanced knowledge in procurement (methodologies of sourcing / procurement / supplier evalulation, suppliers / service providers, national legislation, cost saving potentials and best practice procedures)
  • Basic skill / knowledge in MS Office and SAP SRM
  • Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken & written)

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University graduate
  • Minimum 7 years work experience
  • Minimum 5 years procurement experience
  • Experience successfully leading and managing a team
