Senior Manager- Tech Communications (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


Partner with the TECH Strategy Lead and adidas CIO in order to define, scope and execute assignments of strategic importance for adidas Tech.

Be a resource to drive engagement (communication) of the entire adidas Tech community and the reputation of adidas as a driver and early adopter of technology trends in the sporting goods industry. Collaborate closely with Internal Communication and the TECH Senior Management Team to inform and communicate as fast, flexible and cost-efficient as possible targeted towards adidas Tech employees.

Act as trusted advisor and subject matter expert to CIO, Tech SMT and broader organization, by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights and advice. 


 Key Responsibilities:  


  • Create storylines, posts and presentations to and for the CIO, Tech SMT, Board and Supervisory Board. Support creation of communication and presentation materials for the Tech SMT.
  • Monitor communication activities regarding Tech and react upon them to create a vivid exchange in the Tech Community.
  • Create positive feedback loops across the company and work closely with adidas Tech leadership to promote and enable an open, two-way communication.
  • Contribute to the development of a clear Plan & Modus Operandi of adidas Tech, starting with the CIO and from there cascading it into the entire organization. 
  • Contribute to the development of programs and initiatives driven by the adidas Tech organization.
  • Coordinate internal/external stakeholder management for the CIO.
  • Support the CIO SMT team in keeping all topics, identified as strategic priorities for IT on the CIO and SMT agenda including regular updating on new developments (e.g. annual Top Ambitions of the company).
  • Ensure timeliness and quality of reports, collect and collate metrics to measure overall and specific performance of projects, program and portfolio.
  • Provide a high-level view, report anomalies and concerns that aid decision-making, governance support and action tracking to CIO, IT SMT and to be selected stakeholders.
  • Actively play supporting role in the creation of business cases where required.
  • Develop and implement agendas for leadership and governance meetings, track status as appropriate for governance process, articulate meeting objectives and expected results.
  • Action the defined channels and tools for driving engagement in the organization across all locations adidas Tech is operating in.
  • Apply the agreed execution and usage of communication platforms / content as defined and / or provided by the Internal Comms team of Corporate Communication and Change Management.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 


  • Four-year college or university degree with focus on Business Administration or IT or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient spoken and written command of English, German is a strong plus
  • At least 7-year experience in IT 
  • 5 years of experience in relevant area
  • 2 years of experience in team management
  • Background in communications and a concise way of communicating
  • Strong understanding & knowledge of regional and global market landscape and the respective customer  
  • Managed critical elements and cross functional and regional projects
