Senior Manager Key Accounts, Asia Pacific

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Support the APAC Wholesale organization in achieving profitable share growth for one of our Global Key Accounts (specifically JD) across the region
  • Manage the JD South East Asia business directly (Malaysia, Singapore & Thailand) with a single JD buying team based in Malaysia
  • Be the single point of contact between Global, APAC & country sales teams (currently South Korea and Pacific) for JD to drive best practice and strategic alignment across APAC


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build sustainable long-term Strategic Business Plans for both brands (adidas and Reebok) working with Global, APAC, all relevant country sales teams and the customer
  • Drive implementation of the SBP with all country sales teams to achieve planned account growth & development
  • Operate as the sole Key Account Manager for JD SEA, conducting quarterly sell-ins across the region and ensuring achievement of sales and margin targets
  • Be the interface between Global WHS, APAC WHS & country sales teams & the customer. Ensure regularity and clarity of communication with all touchpoints and highlight any areas which require support from Global / other regions
  • Be the APAC ‘voice’ of the account and demonstrate account expertise in key forums (global monthly meetings, APAC touchpoints)
  • Gather and share best practice from global and across APAC to ensure consistency of approach in order to drive the business and the customer relationship
  • Collate and analyze sell-out data at country, SEA & APAC level to understand trends and identify any opportunities or challenges. Ensure these are explored at country level
  • Co-ordinate customer and account teams at key milestones throughout the GTM process and ensure process evolves to best service the customer and grow the brand

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Key Account Manager with proven record of success
  • Ideally experience in different countries of the adidas Group business
  • Strong interpersonal skills (communication / negotiation)
  • Proven methodological & analytical skills (business planning, strategic development)
  • Broad and deep functional skills (sales, logistics, Finance, IT)
  • High degree of commercial and business acumen
  • Extensive knowledge of the adidas group business along with external industry experience
  • Mental flexibility, initiative and determination


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Business degree or similar
  • Business experience: > 8 years, ideally some of this outside the adidas Group
  • Functional: >5 years’ sales experience, ideally combined with experience of different functions
  • Industry: Apparel/fashion/footwear or FMCG
  • Exposure: Sports industry
  • Skills/ Knowledge: Advanced negotiation strategies and very good product knowledge
