Senior Manager - Labor Relations (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

Supports the execution of the adidas strategic business plan by connecting business and works councils in close collaboration with the wider Labor Relations department and business to ensure a trustful and productive relationship, by establishing and developing a mature function and by creating a positive and constructive relationship to the Germany-based Works Councils in being a reliable, trustful partner.


Key Responsibilities

Collaboration with works council committees

  • Be partner of the works council
  • Follow-up on works council requests and develop and propose solutions
  • Ensure trustful and productive relations with all works council committees
  • Support more effective and efficient works council processes by partnering and consulting with works councils (e.g. digitalization of works council processes, facilitate process map creation sessions with works council and business…)

Labor Relations Partnering

  • Be the Labor Relations partner for defined business areas and take on the following activities
  • Be partner of the business and project teams for all matters related to participation rights of the Works Councils
  • Follow-up on business requests with wider department and works councils, develop and propose solutions
  • Support project teams along the project phase lifecycle (e.g. design phase, planning, pre-implementation)
  • Drive capability training in business & project teams for all topics subject to involvement of the Works Council

Legal recommendation and agreements

  • Partner in giving legal recommendations to business and / or project teams
  • Co-create new agreement drafts or „modernize“ existing ones in close collaboration with business / project team ( = content owner) and wider department ( = responsible for legal content)
  • Project manage agreement creation in close collaboration with business / project team and department
  • Partner with Legal HR in driving negotiations of agreements Govern responsible businesses / project teams in living agreements in close collaboration with wider department

  • Superior technical skills (e.g. MS Office, smartsheet, social media)
  • Fluency in English and German


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Master degree in Economic Law or first state examination in Labor Law
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience with relevant experience in cooperating with employees’ representatives in Germany
  • Intercultural experience and / or mindset (stay abroad or working experience in multinational companies) required
  • Cross-functional experience (either Human Resources or Employment Law is a must)
