Senior Manager Product Ownership - Product Fulfillment

General Purpose
The purpose of the S&P Supply Chain products team is to enable operational excellence for Supply Chain Management

processes and systems, covering global SCM (and adjacent) functions, as well as market SCM teams. This specific role is positioned away from HQ in one of our key markets. It’s key role is act as outpost of our global product teams in our key markets to enable a successful implementation of our new SAP S4 ERP platform.

The key objectives of the role are:

Be accountable for the product success in the implementation phase of SAP S4 in your market for the specific product Area. (ROI).
Create market focused product area roadmap as well as user stories considering the value for the user community and the company.
Be accountable for product delivery in line with the roadmap and committed delivery dates.
Identify and solve dependencies with other product owners to ensure efficient delivery. Coordinate interfaces between different product teams.
Be accountable for monitoring, optimization and enhancement of the configuration, features and functionalities related to the product.
Specifically : Support market teams during all project phases of the rollout of the new SAP S4 platform and act as ‘extended arm’ of product domain/ areas in the your region.
As a Senior Manager Product Ownership at S&P SCM Products, you are responsible for a defined set of digital (sub)products. Together with your agile team(s) you work on continuously improving and evolving the product in order to maximize the value for all internals customers.

Key Responsibilities 
Scope:  Within the Fulfillment product, you will be responsible Primary Data sub product.

1. Product Strategy & Delivery

  • Be accountable for the product success considering the value for the consumer and the company (ROI).
  • Specify the product vision and roadmap as well as user stories considering the value for the user community and the company.
  • Be accountable for product delivery in line with the roadmap and committed delivery dates.
  • Identify and solve dependencies with other product owners to ensure efficient delivery. Coordinate interfaces between different product teams.
  • Be accountable for monitoring, optimization and enhancement of the configuration, features and functionalities related to the product.

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Represent the product team in market, fostering strong relationships with key business and tech stakeholders to ensure that their views and requirements are captured in the product backlog.
  • Promote team priorities and exercise influence with stakeholders
  • Ensure industry standards and template best practices are implemented

3. Backlog Management

  • Based on fit/gap work with Markets teams, prioritize the approved template deviations items in your product teams’ backlog. Specify the definition-of-done in cooperation with the product team(s).
  • Own the refinement of your product backlog to ensure that the product team(s) is/are delivering the right enhancements to drive consumer and business value.
  • Provide acceptance for delivered backlog items by the team, in line with the definition-of-done.

4. S4 Market Rollout

  • Support preparation of process documentation as per defined project approach 
  • Prepare and align specific workshop content for specific project phases
  • Present template processes to market business, leads own part of agenda  
  • Drive process alignments / gap resolution with central product teams (within own stream and x-functionally) as well as markets  attitude “template first”  
  • Prepare, discuss & design solutions to local legal requirements with local team / consultants / localization partner in alignment with central product teams
  • Capture and discuss/ deep-dive on local legal requirements
  • Provide/ coordinate input for local test cases, training documentation (local specifics)
  • Provide input for the build phase to global product teams and delivery team (process enhancements, new market demand, roll-out user stories + localization stories)
  • Provide clarification to the Implementation/Localization partner as needed during development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Expert level domain knowledge on SCM and SAP S4 business processes
  • Proven experience Primary Data Management in complex ERP environments
  • Excellent Change Management skills; enabling our market teams to get used to new processes.
  • Comfortable working with enterprise-level platforms and technologies
  • Advanced understanding of IT products and capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills and facilitation skills especially when interacting with different levels of business
  • Pro- active mindset, ability to think end-to-end
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures
  • Ability to travel, domestic or international, as required
  • Fluent English (verbal and written)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in global team; with confidence to represent global function in market


Requisite Education and Qualifications: 

  • University degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of experience working in Supply Chain / IT
  • 4+ years’ experience of working with SAP AFS/S4 in Product Supply / Fulfillment area
  • Experience as a Product Owner in at least one additional product area or domain
  • Market experience preferred
  • Experience in working with stakeholders and experts at various organizational levels
