Senior Manager - Sustainability Stakeholder Engagement, Reporting (m/f/d)



To uphold adidas’ recognition as industry leader. To manage the integration of external transparency requirements into the sustainability strategy and business operations and manage key ESG assessments and stakeholder engagements in close collaboration with Finance and Governmental Affairs.


Key Accountabilities

  • Build strong relationship with GTM teams, be the go to person for the markets for all sustainability related topics. Be the facilitator and connector for upskilling and experience sharing to enable these teams to deliver upon their sustainability targets
  • Be go to person for KA for everything sustainability related, including upskilling of KA teams, shares experiences across regions and KAs
  • Provide latest trends from industry and markets regarding product transparency, reporting requirements
  • Provide input into internal transparency workstreams such as product traceability
  • Manage key account engagements to understand their transparency expectations and actively present our leading practices in close collaboration with Markets
  • Identify the need for and create overarching policies and processes to integrate upcoming external reporting requirements
  • Ensure sustainability positioning and content creation for critical internal and external stakeholder engagements (e.g. governmental representatives, investors, key accounts)
  • Guide Markets to ensure strategic market plans for sustainability contribute to company direction
  • Upskill internal teams, facilitates learning sessions.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience

  • Strong expertise in non-financial and sustainability reporting
  • Advanced knowledge of the latest EU taxonomy and TFCD developments
  • Strong expertise in answering key assessements and stakeholder questionnaires
  • Knowledge in the area of sustainability analytics and stakeholder expectations
  • Strong knowledge in the area of stakeholder engagement
  • Advanced x-industry expert network in the area of transparency and reporting
  • Knowledge of footwear, apparel and accessories manufacturing
  • Experience in leading x-functional projects with a positive track record
  • Effective communication skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)


People management skills:

  1. Four-year university degree, preferably master’s degree in environmental science, CSR or related fields
  2. Minimum 7 years’ work experience in sustainability with a focus on reporting, stakeholder engagement and strategy
