Senior Manager Technology Sustainability SPI FW

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

•    Lead all LO based technology projects targeting industry leading & sustainable methods of  making through machinery, bottom/upper tooling and process innovations. 
Ensure full integrity towards quality, cost, efficiency, and sustainability in line with brand direction. 

•    Create and implement LO based technologies and innovation of mold materials/constructions and be responsible to drive full validation from proof of concept over small scale “FUTURECRAFT” launch to final commercial handover to strategic supply partners. 

•    Establish new and maintain existing relationships with strategic external stakeholders to achieve most impactful results for the brand. Work closely with cross functional Sourcing teams and Headquarter Technology teams to achieve a seamless transition into the business.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•    Ensure that latest CAD/tooling technology is used to develop and commercialize adidas innovation products according to the highest quality and industrial standards. 
•    Identify new manufacturing methods to re-use material, reduce waste ‘down to zero’, and continuously think about simplification to create most sustainable product and processes.
•    Use 3D printing technology for product and process development to save time and costs and offer new opportunities
•    Apply highest quality engineering level including pro-active & innovative solutions to reduce overall carbon footprint of adidas FW products.
•    Support Director Technology to build sourcing interface to HQ tech/engineering teams and help to explore and verify new bottom/upper tooling technologies as well as new ways of creation. 
•    Manage the relationship with mold shops, injectors and support in mold assembly & plastics material engineering feasibility studies.
•    Create and maintain technical/design guidelines and ensure continuous upgrades of technical information. Support roll-out within adidas internal teams as well as mold shops & suppliers.  
•    Manage and implement a secure, central filing system for all technical drawings and relevant graded patterns, design guidelines. 
•    Supports the update of CAD/tooling manuals; processes incoming information on latest industrial standards; ensures that these standards are evaluated and, if appropriate, adopted into working processes.
•    Helps coordinate all PCT related work at the innovation center to ensure implementation & adherence of latest PCT guidelines & policies and other established standards for:

    mold technology 
    grading system
    quality and tooling execution
    process-oriented procedures
    CAD/CAM and software application (Watertight, FEA, etc.)

•    Define innovation team internal tech gate milestones in order to smooth technology transition & actively participate in tear-down meetings. 


Requisite Education and Qualifications

•    Diploma or degree in a post-secondary discipline focusing on CAD/Tooling and/or product engineering.
•    3-4 years working experience in a technical engineering, CAD, mold making capability with a good knowledge of injection plastics for consumer goods. Knowledge on shoemaking a plus
•    Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM processes and applications, handling related software (e.g Rhino, Jevero, Grasshopper)
•    3D printing skills
•    Experience on ‘product life cycle analysis’
•    Good project management and organizational skills. 
•    Ability to create, plan and deliver presentations
•    Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese. 
•    Computer literacy, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel & PowerPoint,
