Senior Manager eCom Merchandising Planning

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


The Senior Merchandising Planning Manager will be responsible for overall products performance deep dive and preparing the right OTB plan for the buying team to prepare their seasonal buy and reflect the right plan for capacity (SNP) to avoid any production delay.  Meanwhile, he/she will need to reflect the performance trend of categories into IBP to make sure each category full year net sales is well tracked against our plan.


The functional areas will span OTB planning, IBP planning, SNP forecasting, and merchandising planning that down by platform by category to maximise selling opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the partnership with buying team to develop buy plan (OTB) per store/platform according to buying strategy, financial target, and historical analysis.
  • Conduct historical analysis in terms of buying structure and provide proposals for pre-season buying structures at platform level.
  • Monitor actual bought vs. buy plan.
  • Lead the partnership with buying team to develop IBP plan for category and monitor performance against the plan
  • Lead the discussion with buying team and SCM team for SNP submission to ensure we provide accurate capacity forecast to global


  • Lead in the process to provide ongoing product and category performance and quantitative analysis for both during inline normal launch period and special events perioducts e.g.:- sales, best seller, MD, etc.
  • Identify business risk & opportunity thru deep dive analysis leveraging available data source
  • Maintain & Monitor compliance of pre-season buy and net sales forecast
  • Continue to update the IBP plan with actual net sales against the plan and review the result with BU’s
  • Continue to update the SNP plan based on the actual buy and to manage the fluctuation as little as possible

Strategic Planning:

  • Integrated business plan and merchandising demand plan based on direction

System and Process:

  • Internal key GTM milestone calendar maintenance to ensure the team is delivering the key deliverables on time
  • Propose process adjustments/improvements to enhance data tracking/visibility and cross brand planning/ buying data consolidation 
  • Work with BI/IT/CDH to enhance system usage per business needs like Omni Hub/MSTR/HUB, etc
  • Participate in the development of the integrated data solution and drive data visualization
  • Regular data check & validation to make sure data upload process working

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in OTB planning/forecasting – preferably in ecommerce environment
  • Strong hands-on experience on forecasting methodology including rolling forecasting, discount/sell thru management and inventory management
  • University business degree in statistics, mathematics, finance, business administration, economics or similar discipline
