Senior Product Owner - Advanced Analytics Brand (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

Earlier this year, adidas decided to elevate the Data & Analytics function, moving from a tech service to a value-oriented business function that actively and directly impacts adidas’ P&L.

 

The Data & Analytics function will include a Brand Advanced Analytics team, which will work hand in hand with the Global Brands organization on flagship use cases that have the potential to fundamentally redesign the way that we serve our consumers. 

 

For example, the Brand Advanced Analytics team will provide fashion and consumer trend insights to adidas’ creative engine ahead of rapid creation sprints, create a data-driven global range proposal and predict consumer demand for our HYPE products. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Use case strategy & delivery

  • Support the Product Owner Directors/Senior Directors in designing the product vision, roadmap and requirements, in close collaboration with the Global Brands business owners and the Brand Analytics team
  • Create an actionable plan that the data scientist and engineering teams can deliver agains 

 

Stakeholder management

  • Manage relationships with the Global Brands project team, ensuring their views and requirements are captured
  • Act as ambassadors for your products, showcasing the key functionalities, driving adoption and assuring operational excellence together with IT peers

 

Key relationships

  • Global Brand project team
  • Other teams within Data & Analytics (e.g., Data assets, data platforms, data governance, market teams)

 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

Education & professional experience

  • Ideally a university degree in a numeric/statistical discipline
  • At least 4 years work experience, preferably in a data science or analytics environment, of which at least 2 years as a product owner/project manager
  • Proven track record or working with senior stakeholders 

 

Hard skills

  • Proficiency in data science methods (including supervised techniques, unsupervised techniques, recommender systems)
  • Fluency in at least two of the standard data science programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Java, Scala, Octave)
  • Solid understanding of relational databases and NoSQL databases
  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) required to scale and sustain use cases in a large and global corporation

 

Soft skills

  • Clear and concise written and oral communication  
  • Ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields
  • High resilience and solution-oriented attitude
