Senior Product Owner, Integrated Business Planning (m/f/d) - temp until December 2023

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization: 


The active management of products or services throughout their lifecycle (inception through to retirement) in order to address market opportunities and customer/user needs and generate the greatest possible value for the business. The adoption and adaptation of product development models based on the context of the work and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. 


General Product Management Key Responsibilities:  


Product Management 

  • Manages aspects of the product lifecycle enabling the product to meet the needs of customers/users and achieve financial or other targets.  

  • Acts as product owner for one or more lower-value products or services; prioritises product requirements and owns a product backlog.  


Project Management  

  • Applies appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.  

  • Agrees project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.  


Key Responsibilities within IBP Product & Process Management:


The Team is running the Integrated Business Planning (IBP’ 25) Transformation Program as a company priority which should increase efficiency and effectiveness by fully integrating financial planning, simplifying seasonal category planning and includes Inventory and Open to Buy planning. It has the goal to evolve the tool from a submission to a planning tool by establishing a clear planning collaboration model.

Organization & Process: 

  • define the relevant parts of the organizational setup which drives the IBP Process  

  • define the own and key related processes of the IBP Planning Framework together with the respective direct Process- and Product owners 

  • define the relevant Planning and Alignment Processes within the IBP Framework 


  • define the content (Data) of the Planning & Alignment Processes 

  • this includes a definition of planned & reported KPI’s, Time Dimensions, Product-,Customer and Organizational Attributes & Granularities 

  • drive other related product owners towards using a common data language within the IBP Framework to enable a smooth and simple integration within the Planning Framework  


  • define the requirements towards the tool supporting the IBP process in terms of  planning, Alignment, Reporting, Dashboarding, Simulation and Collaboration. 

  • ensure connection to surrounding product of the IBP Framework 

  • acting with the Tech Function within one Product Team ensuring a smooth System Development 

  • coordinate and run Testing on the new application together with our Key Users 

  • Interrelate with KSR Functions (Business & IT) for ongoing topics regarding the current toolset 

  • after the project phase define, align and implement ongoing improvements towards the process & system environment 

  • prepare and perform Trainings on the current processes & toolsets 

Stakeholder Management:

  • do ongoing Stakeholder Management towards our Customers within Markets, Brands and Supply 

  • Ensure a collaborative interconnected definition of the enhanced processes & tool concept with our key stakeholders 

  • Run the change management towards the enhanced IBP Process with our stakeholders 

  • ensure an ongoing full connected Planning with the Global Demand Planning Team 

  • ensure an ongoing full connected Planning with the Strategy Team and Product Area Owner 

  • ensure smooth connection with the Operational Demand Planning Team building new concepts

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:  


  • Four-year college or university degree with focus on Business Administration or IT or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Proficient spoken and written command of English   

  • 3-5 year experience in a planning related area 

  • understanding of different cultures 

  • participated in projects with people from other functions/markets 

  • experience in Project Management 

  • competence with various tools, procedures related to business planning  

  • Process Documentation Skills
