Senior Technology Project Manager, APAC

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The Senior Tech Project Manager is someone who can effectively cross-collaborate with multiple stakeholders to define the current and future state of adidas business and its processes, identifying issues and risks, suggesting mitigation strategies and driving towards technology solutions.

 

The management of projects typically (but not exclusively) involve the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business needs. The role acquires and utilizes the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality. This includes the adoption and adaptation of project management methodologies based on the context of the project and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Additionally, the Senior Technical Project Manager is capable of managing technology focused projects and understands software solutions or system architecture (e.g. SAP).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio, programme and project support

  • Takes responsibility for the provision of support services to projects.
  • Uses and recommends project control solutions for planning, scheduling and tracking projects.
  • Sets up and provides detailed guidance on project management software, procedures, processes, tools and techniques.
  • Supports programme or project control boards, project assurance teams and quality review meetings.
  • Provides basic guidance on individual project proposals.
  • May be involved in aspects of supporting a programme by providing a cross programme view on risk, change, quality, finance or configuration management.

 

Business analysis

  • Investigates operational needs and problems, and opportunities, contributing to the recommendation of improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes and organisation.
  • Assists in defining acceptance tests for these recommendations.

 

Requirements definition and management

  • Defines and manages scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for smallscale changes and assists with more complex change initiatives.
  • Follows agreed standards, applying appropriate techniques to elicit and document detailed requirements.
  • Provides constructive challenge to stakeholders as required.
  • Prioritises requirements and documents traceability to source.
  • Reviews requirements for errors and omissions.
  • Provides input to the requirements base-line.
  • Investigates, manages and applies authorised requests for changes to base-lined requirements, in line with change management policy.

 

People Management

  • Ensures appropriate leadership skills are present at every level through creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development
  • Allocates the different work to the respective employees considering experience, complexity, workload and organizational efficiency
  • Continuously monitors and evaluates team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of IT systems, data and analysis and team feedback and makes appropriate changes to meet business needs.
  • Provides team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and Global IT objectives

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Recognized Degree in IT, Business Administration with IT relevancy
  • Possess at least minimum 5 years experience in relevant field
  • Possess at least 2 years' experience in team management
  • Strong understanding & knowledge of regional and global market landscape
  • Experience as IT Business Partner to internal stakeholders & management of critical elements cross functional and regional projects
