Assistant Manager HR, Retail


  • Provide HR services and support to retail stores and other new own retail store opening project to build, attract, develop, and retain the store workforce.
  • Support Store Managers on people management and independently deal with on-site HR related issues in the store.
  • Develop and implement adidas China own retail integrated HR programs, policy and systems and make sure proper implementation.
  • To be a key bridge and contact person among responsible store staff, HR team and back office retail staff.


Key Responsibilities:

Employment Process:

  • Take initiative to explore new recruiting channels, coordinate with recruitment agencies, CV screening, arrange all and participate in interviews for retail hiring.
  • Independently prepare offer letters, labor contract and other related documentation for responsible positions.
  • Provide timely employment and termination formality services to incoming and outgoing employees such as employment registration/termination, personal files and social security a/c transfer and necessary documentation.
  • Collect and check store staff monthly payroll, commission and benefit information from Retail District/Store Manager and pass it timely to Rewarding group.
  • Coordinate and support retail training activities; independently deliver HR related training.


Reports/Database Management:

  • Maintain national reports and database.
  • Implement analysis on key HR indicators and provide improvement suggestions.
  • Establish & maintain all files as necessary and ensure that all employee data files are current and accurate.


Employee relations

  • Maintain healthy employee relations in the store and explore effective communication channels between store management team and store staff.
  • Organize store employee team activities.
  • Coordinate development, implementation and maintain the employee recognition program to promote the right behaviors.
  • Timely publicize the store announcements and adidas China related information.


System Maintenance

  • Coordinate Retail HR’s national system related affairs.
  • Provide efficient solution to system problems.


Own Retail Back Office Support

  • Support HRM in own retail back office HR affairs management, including but not limited to system maintenance, P-file, data maintenance and so on.



  • Be a key responding person of retail HR policies and related questions from store employees.
  • Act as national coordinator of other regions’ Retail HR Officer.
  • Assist HRM in succession plan implementation.


Experience/skills required:

  • University graduate required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR function, at least 3 year retail relevant HR experience
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • A good team leader/player with proactive manner
  • Independent and strong problem-solving skills
  • Mature, details driven and with strong sense of responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and has the ability to deal with conflicts and ambiguity
  • Willing to work closely with business partners and the stores by managing and influencing teams in the front end
  • Native Mandarin and fluent English
