Director Transportation Excellence

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


  • The role is responsible for the Transportation Excellence function of outbound transportation in GCA SCM. It includes, but not limited to, intelligence analysis, digitalization and optimization for outbound transportation to support GCA transportation strategy.
  • The role aims to improve customer/consumer experience for both 2B and 2C business and fulfil transportation related KPIs via data driven analysis and management.
  • Independently identify optimization opportunities, lead initiatives in projects (especially for cost saving as per yearly target) and deliver results is the basic requirements of the role.  



Key Responsibilities:


  • Gain market intelligence to support in driving transportation transformation strategy
  • Establish KPIs, operation metrics and reporting platform to achieve visibility of transportation process and performance results
  • Identify and implement the continuous improvement opportunities to deliver transportation targets and KPIs, mainly on cost, service level and process optimization and continuously drive DTC excellence
  • Establish intelligence center to realize the roadmap of digitalization and smart execution
  • Proactively act as a key contact window in GCA SCM, key market stakeholders, global teams and with other functions in initiatives and projects for tech systems, process and customer experience optimization
  • Lead the team to ensure effective deliveries while creating an intelligent and a high performing team culture in a matrix company


Key Relationships:


  • Internal: Global SC team, DC Operations, Inbound, SCD, IT, NTP, Order Book Fulfillment, Finance, HR, own retail, e-Com, B2B, and other business teams
  • External: 3rd party Logistics Service Providers



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Solid Experience in transportation field knowledge (eg. Strategy, network, transportation planning)
  • Solid experience in achieving logistics excellence via data analytics and modeling
  • Proven track record in logistics or transportation project, process and change management
  • Proven senior leadership for a team over 8 years delivering strong results
  • Good communication with external and internal partners across multiple functions
  • English as a working language with solid presentation and storytelling skills
  • Self-motivated, open-minded and ability to work independently and under pressure without supervision



Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or above
  • At least 8 years’ experience in supply chain or logistics leadership roles
  • Experience in consultancy company (for supply chain), Retail, FMCG or high-end consumer goods enterprises is preferred
  • PMP / Lean 6sigma is a plus
