Sr Director, US Distribution Center - SPG Campus

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The Spartanburg DC Campus is a critical location for adidas, responsible for fulfilling deliveries for our major brands, including adidas and Reebok, across all sales channels (Wholesale, Retail & eCommerce). The Senior Director of Distribution Center Operations is responsible for driving and directing the end-to-end operations, including safety, production planning, performance management, inventory control/quality, training, LEAN/process improvement, and reporting & analytics.  This person is also the senior management interface and Supply Chain partner for the campus.  As the site lead, they are accountable for community relations and fostering a diverse and inclusive culture across the campus, leading campus-wide communications and employee engagement activities. 


Key Responsibilities: 

•    Oversee Spartanburg Distribution Center Campus, encompassing two DCs (apparel and footwear) and DC Operations Leadership team.
•    Cross-functional alignment with Supply Chain partners in Order Fulfilment, Inbound Planning, Omni-Channel Operations, Engineering, Transportation and Customs. Coordinates with support functions in Facilities, IT, HR and Finance.
•    Contribute as part of the NAM Supply Chain Management DC Operations senior leadership team to drive operational excellence across the NAM DC Network with the goal to improve service and cost performance.
•    Coordinates campus wide communication efforts via various mediums, such as townhalls, social mediums, and huddles, together with local support teams. 

Detailed Responsibilities:

•    Lead with a consumer-obsessed mindset to perform against key KPIs, including but not limited to, processing and delivery SLAs, productivity, costs, inventory accuracy, process compliance.  
•    Create an environment that has joint accountability in the supply chain to deliver OTIF, OTA and minimize OH/Variable costs as compared to net sales. 
•    Partner with DC leaders to deliver day-to-day operational excellence and lead turnaround program focused on achieving excellence, encompassing people, processes, systems and facility transformation. 
•    Lead team to respond with agility to short term challenges while ensuring long-term targets and continuous improvements are aligned across the teams and delivered. 
•    Full ownership for campus costs, budget planning and accurate financial forecasting, ensuring all variable and fixed costs are managed.  Plan and drive efficiency exercises as needed, to stay within budget.  
•    Live a performance management culture and ensure it is followed across all levels of the organization, ranging from support/admin personnel, to DC management and warehouse associates.  
•    Create an inclusive and diverse culture by supporting programs to highlight the importance and enabling a high-performance team environment.  
•    Lead the creation, implementation and management of an end-to-end Health & Safety program, together with the onsite H&S Officer, HR and DC leadership.  Ensure health & safety remains the top priority across the campus.  
•    Responsible for ensuring the organizational set-up and processes of a Production Planning function, that is fully aligned with daily Operations capabilities.
•    Leverage Quality teams to track, manage and eliminate quality related issues and chargebacks.  Drive inventory accuracy and processing compliance across all teams.  
•    Develop transparent reporting to manage against and communicate key metrics and SLAs supporting fact-based decision making, while also automating key processes to reduce overhead. 
•    Oversee training function to drive required and needed training initiatives to maintain legal compliance and drive DC performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
•    Experience leading high-volume, fast paced operations (or similar environment) with direct ownership of end consumer and/or retail/wholesale customer experience 
•    Excellent knowledge of supply chain mechanics and DC operations
•    Experience driving performance improvements and change within a large, complex and global organization
•    Ability to provide a clear framework for performance to direct reports; ability to coach, guide and lead a diverse team, demonstrating sensitivity and professionalism 
•    Proven ability to influence, communicate and lead at both tactical and executive levels
•    Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data and develop innovative solutions
•    Pro-active (engaging & impact-oriented) mindset, ability to think end-to-end with a global mindset
•    Ability to be self-directed while working under tight deadlines
•    Business mindset: strong numerical and analytical skills, experience in finance 
•    Strong communication (both written and verbal) and facilitation skills especially when interacting with different levels of business
•    Strong and consistent sense of anticipation, urgency, creative problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
•    Strong knowledge of Manhattan WMS system, SAP and data warehouse models   
•    MS Office (Excel/Access, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
•    Fluent in English (written and oral). 


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 
1.  4-year degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of logistics, supply chain (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
2.  10+ years’ work experience, ideally in management of substantial in-house warehouse and distribution facilities (preferable focus on multi-facility campuses)
3.  10+ years Retail, Wholesale and DTC on site distribution leadership experience, ideally for footwear and apparel product operations
