Senior Director, eCommerce

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

 

Drive operational excellence in site development, order fulfillment and change request management in order to support sales growth in eCommerce business as well as ensuring business opportunities by developing new online business channels and platforms. Responsible for driving profitable and sustainable market share growth for Korea eCommerce division, while ensuring sales and profitability targets are met through execution of strategic business plan for this key growth Channel.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Lead and Manage Full eCommerce P&L for adidas Korea

• Lead further development of all adidas Korea online channels (eCom, Ship from Stores, eMarket Places, Department Stores Online Platforms and Wholesale.com)

• Lead and drive the implementation of eCom strategy and business plan

• Implement global strategy and adapt global best practice from Digital Brand Commerce Team and from Asia eCom hub for the development and management of  

   eCommerce business in Korea

• Lead development of specific online Channel strategy tailored to each online Channel thru right product segmentation and pricing strategy in close collaboration 

   with Retail and Wholesale team.

• Lead eCom Product Buying for eCom to ensure high level of eCom exclusive products and Hype Launches to deliver excellent online site merchandising execution

• Leverage existing partnerships with ie. 11st to capitalize on peak trading days and to better utilize CRM data for targeted online consumer activations

 • Initiate implementing and developing all eCommerce business related systems and platforms such as customization, hybrid app, market place expansion, online,

   mobile, WS eCom and employee mall together with vendors to ensure meeting company business needs

• Lead Consumer Experience enhancements (UX/UI improvements) to leverage operational KPIs (Traffic, Conversion Rate, Average Order Value) for analytics and

  competitive analysis and consistently raise the bar for consumer experience (esp. A/B testing and Google Analytics)

• Collaboration with IT- to review security standard to provide safe and stable online commerce experiences to consumers as well as to meet the local market’s 

   required standards. Lead system platform upgrade initiatives to deliver state of the art system architecture that is strong foundation for future business growth.

 • Lead eCom Project Management- Lead system security and stability including backend infrastructure and frontend webpage through excellent eCommerce 

   operations together with the team and 3rd party vendors on a monthly basis.

 • Lead process enhancement meetings with 3rd party vendors to ensure strong quality assurance and high-quality system maintenance on a regular basis

 • Review Service level agreements (SLA) on a monthly basis and make sure the company needs are well reflected in the agreement.

 • Establish operational KPIs from analytics and competitive analysis and consistently drive its implementation

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to deliver on eCom the projects (platform upgrade, Click and Reserve, launch additional eMarket

  places,..) and initiatives on time with the required quality level

 • Team Leadership: Constant update of new technologies, initiatives and online commerce trend for building profound insight on the industry.

• Lead and coach eCommerce operation team members to have full initiative and ownership of one’s responsibility and motivate the team to raise a bar for Korea

  online business.  operational excellence.

• Lead Operational Excellence in site development, order fulfillment and change request management in order to support sales growth in eCommerce business as 

  well as ensuring business opportunities by developing new online business channels and platforms

 

 Key Relationships

• Internal stakeholders: Wholesale, Retail, After Sales, DC, Store, IT, Legal, SCM, Marketing Teams : local market and global HQ team

• Outsourcing vendor, 3rd party service provider

• Global Digital Brand Commerce team and Asia eCom hub based in Shanghai

• Senior Leadership team of adidas Korea

 

 Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Strong leadership and coaching skills and the ability to capitalize on and apply these skills to create a highly productive and a highly engaged team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across organization functions and levels and to write and prepare executive-level business correspondence.

• Ability to diplomatically resolve conflicts and compromise.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

• Ability to work independently to achieve the eCommerce mission.

• High level of analytical skills and International mindset

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

• Excellent command of Korean and English language and preferably Korean Language

• Expert Excellent knowledge of MS-Office applications

• Knowledge of general business processes of eCommerce

• Site development knowledge, technical and aesthetic. Extensive knowledge of the eCommerce industry, including web/internet sales and marketing techniques, order fulfilment strategies, market research and analysis practices; product selection and media marketing/communications capabilities.

• Holistic thinker – can establish and drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives encompassing multiple functions

• Must demonstrate strategic discernment and ability to navigate strategic challenges.

• Strong business acumen in driving eCom channel net sales, margin, profit and inventory.

• Advanced financial knowledge and skills, and the ability to leverage this for business planning and budgeting.

• The ability to skillfully negotiate, winning concessions without damaging relationships.

 

 Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

• University degree or adequate education

• At least 8 years of job experience in sales operation area

• Experience working in an international company, University degrees or bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, preferably in Business, IT,

  Marketing, or Communications.

• A minimum of 10 years related eCommerce experience, with at least 5 years of leading eCommerce teams experience.

• Business experience in the Sporting Goods, Apparel or Sport Lifestyle or Consumer Industry preferred.

• Experience working in an international company
