Sr. Manager, Planning & Allocation

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Manage Planning process across assigned Direct to Consumer channels, including Concept Stores and Factory Outlets. Deliver open-to-buy planning and management, defining optimal volumes to provided channel ranges. Drive Allocation and Trading process across both Retail channels, Concept Stores and Factory Outlets. Accountable for ensuring optimal initial allocations and in-season replenishments to fulfil consumer needs. Ensure quick reaction to fast changing market environment to steer allocation strategies. Ensure the achievement of market KPIs and global guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead allocation teams to assure that stores needs are covered by following the Channel Ranges provided by Retail Buying teams and handed down from Market CTC Assortment Plan teams, and by providing the optimal initial volumes to achieve stores sales plans
  • Responsible for in-season replenishment of stocks according to store performance
  • Drive the execution of mark-downs for Retail channels as required within given framework and in line with market and global strategy
  • Responsible for effective flow of stock from Concept Stores to Factory Outlets to assure product relevance in regular stores, adequate stock clearance and margin optimization
  • Serve as expert and leadership voice of allocation and trading to senior Merchandising leadership to ensure teams are working collectively toward organizational objectives

  • Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and objectives
  • Oversee implementation of pre-season strategy for open-to-buy Planning & Management following the market financial targets (including planned production for Factory Outlet/Concept Stores)
  • Manage the submission of initial seasonal forecasts into applicable systems for horizontal review by global functions at key milestones
  • Manage the size breakdowns process assuring they are created according to market needs and incorporated in the buying process
  • Manage stakeholders to receive input to Market Concept-to-Consumer Assortment Planning teams in regard to range needs by store tier
  • Manage market relevant store tiering process following global store tiering guidance, in collaboration with Concept-to-Consumer Assortment Planning teams
  • Drive for effective flow of stock from regular Direct-to-Consumer channels to Factory Outlet/Concept Store channels to assure product relevance in regular stores, adequate stock clearance and margin optimization
  • Build and leverage relationships with cross-functional teams (e.g., Buying, Planning, Marketing, Allocation) to obtain information necessary to achieve business objectives

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess a strong skill set needed for in-season allocation and trading for a multichannel direct-to-consumer (own retail) global brand, acquired through advanced training, studies, and relevant working experience
  • Broad knowledge of merchandising and retail supply and operations topics and good knowledge of other functional areas involved in the Allocation & Trading process
  • Specialist with technical skills in pre-season Planning for a multichannel direct-to-consumer (own retail) global brand
  • Deep knowledge of merchandising and retail supply and operations topics and broad knowledge of other functional areas involved in the Planning process
  • Strong financial acumen and familiarity with driving open-to-buy process

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in business, ideally with marketing and sales focus or equivalent professional experience
  • 8 years typical relevant work experience
