Sr. Manager Category Management Running

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


Drive the seasonal range management for the Running business for all countries and channels across all Latin American countries where adidas operates. Support the BU Senior Director in defining the Market's short- and mid-term objectives for the category and drive the category across all KPIs with focus on assigned categories and/or divisions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Create an optimal product range for every country and channel within the parameters set by the Concepts-to-Consumer Range Architecture team
  • Manage all aspects of range merchandising, segmentation, SMU briefs, local sourcing strategies and provide input into the overall seasonal, annual and Strategic Business Plan for the category to achieve Category KPIs       
  • Prepare all deliverable on time and in full according to the seasonal GTM calendar and activity list established by the MOPS and CTC functions
  • Handover to channel teams (eCommerce, Own Retail, Franchise & Wholesale) a compelling range on a seasonal basis providing the tools and support to prepare teams to buy and sell in correct depth and width behind all key concepts and business drivers
  • Monitor and track business KPIs including net sales, standard margin and inventory with full accountability to maximize business across all channels                                       
  • Manage the cross-functional working relationships (especially CtC, MOPS and DP) with other Marketing disciplines and distribution channel teams effectively to ensure timely delivery of the GTM propositions.                 
  • Develop category forecast as part of the monthly IBP process that supports overall business and operation planning on a local, regional and global level in addition to prepare business status updates to Regional VP and Global BU providing strong action plans to course correct or capitalize business opportunities where relevant.             
  • Lead a process to gather, consolidate and deliver all Market sub-unit's commercial inputs (consumer, channel and market-specific needs and business opportunities) to the Global BU to maximize category sales and profitability (within Global and Market strategic parameters)
  • Provide input to the Global BU to get the best possible sell-in tools for the category and create local tools where required with the market BU Brand Comms and brand activation teams to support sellin where needed                  
  • Support Brand Communication Sr. Manager to prepare all needed information to implement successful category specific campaigns. Participate in 90-60-30 meetings to provide concept specific direction in addition to monitoring and reacting during campaign execution taking corrective actions in case they are necessary
  • Work with Purchasing, Country CTCs and Brand Communication teams to provide full visibility of range availability per country to x-functions for excellent execution and implementation of campaigns across all channel and communication touchpoint

  • Strong structure and organizational skills
  • Ability to manager Microsoft office with focus in Excel and Powerpoint at a expert level
  • Experience with Product Manager systems a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of Sporting goods business with specific running, sports and sport inspired footwear a strong candidate differentiator




  • +7 year years of relevant business experience
  • 3-5 years experience in Product Marketing and/or Commercial Channels
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
