Sr. Manager Purchasing

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The main purpose of this role is to coordinate all activities required to efficiently convert unconstrained Demand signal into lean Supply plans with the goal to maximize product availability for a specific region in LATAM. He/She has the responsibility to setup the proper systems and processes required to create a world class service level related to purchase orders placement, factory delivery tracking and product availability visibility to meet customer requirements. Role also provides the anticipated transparency to Management in terms of KPIs performance through the ONE Purchasing Report to manage changes, risks, and opportunities; and ensure that business commitments are met or that gap-closing actions are established.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Purchasing team by setting clear direction, challenging business goals and tactical objectives to meet business goals in terms of availability while controlling the excess inventory creation             
  • Create the most efficient Above Market Buy Plan in close collaboration with Demand Planning team (demand signal accuracy) and leveraging on countries support (Pull Forward) to overcome production minimums (MPQ) to secure the supply process, efficiently fulfilling countries product availability requirements
  • Generate and track Purchasing Planning Cycles based on the following main activities: (1) seasonal (RID check, MD call @ ILS2), (2) quarterly (Qtrly Biz @ Mexico), (3) monthly (Buy Plan generation and execution for all countries) for the creation and execution of the AMP Buy Plan, tracking of PO´s scheduling & delivering process and timely information to management. 
  • Deploy and communicate monthly purchasing results to all business stakeholders (GMs, FLMs, Finance, Demand Planning, Marketing & Commercial teams as well as to other SCM areas) via the ONE Purchasing report to provide anticipated transparency and confidence to management in terms of product availability as well as insights in case of any corrective action must be taken
  • Influence other functions through our detailed understanding of the supply chain constraints to adjust their business plans, e.g. feasible RIDs vs. global RIDs, regional ONE Calendar alignment, Allocation process improvement to achieve more consistent launches across the region and to clarify expectations about campaigns product availability
  • Drive the compliance of SOPs and R&Rs among the different functions involved in the Purchasing processes as well as to find new creative and efficient ways to optimize them, e.g. AMP Buy Plan tool, AFS massive upload, among others   to better use of resources, maximize team output and expand the possibility of doing more analytical vs. transactional work
  • Align    his/her Group organization towards a High Performing Team level by establishing a clear vision, mission and strategies aligned with global and regional SCM master plan to deliver outstanding results, e.g. PO acceptance rate + 91%, market Pull Forward +75%, OTA +90%             
  • Manage people career path and succession planning of his/her team, implement coaching and mentoring programs, identification and development of new key talents to ensure the continuity and renewal of the organization, allow people grow inside the area or to support them to transition to other functions
  • Owns   OTA monthly results tracking, GAP & why-why analysis as well as the establishment of the required action plans to mitigate GAPs and to secure Material Available Date (MAD) on time to support OTIF target @ 85%
  • Align E2E business planning from supply standpoint with Demand Planning to support the Integrated Business Planning process that ensures the business is perpetually managed to meet market strategies, goals, and commitments in response to business changing conditions                                                                                                                                                 

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Specialist in business or technical skills with detailed knowledge in some areas of work or systems.
  • Broad & deep knowledge in own functional area, combining theoretical and practical knowledge
  • Fluency in English and Spanish

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 7 years experience
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience required
