The vast majority of today’s consumer journeys start online – they like to browse, research and compare products, even if they intend to buy in-store. The way consumers shop is reshaping the marketplace. As a result, many of our wholesale accounts (partners) are going through their own digital transformations. They are investing in how they reach the consumer online, whilst a new breed of accounts in the form of pure players and eMarketplaces have emerged in our digital ecosystem with new business models to service and sell to our consumers. At adidas, we are redefining our digital presence in a way that will push the future of digital and create premium experiences across all our consumer touchpoints to drive brand desirability, engagement and sales for our brands. The Digital Partner Commerce (DPC) team is driving this evolution in digital wholesale and through new business models across our worldwide organization.


The role of the DPC Strategic Account Acceleration team is to accelerate growth with our largest key accounts by providing the leadership, expertise and capabilities for “how to win” online. In order to ensure our Wholesale partners receive unmatched support that enables them to serve consumers in the best way possible, adidas established a dedicated digital key account organization providing industry-leading service and coordinating all global adidas interactions with them.


As Senior Manager Strategic Account Acceleration, you will be responsible for unlocking our digital growth ambitions for the chosen key accounts. You will be the global counterpart for the specified key account teams on developing strategic business plans, digital acceleration plans (sell in & sell out) amongst other commercial responsibilities. Leveraging global insights and best practices, you will play a pivotal role in enabling markets and account teams in achieving the group’s ambitious net sales growth & profit targets by representing the needs of the accounts to global stakeholders.


Success will be measured by local account team’s adaptation of global tools, resources, frameworks and through driving an innovative global account management processes to further accelerate digital growth and profitability.


Key Responsibilities


  • Global Key Account Acceleration of 2 global key accounts – Amazon and GFG (Global Fashion Group).
  • Ownership of accelerating strategic account management processes for named accounts, including but not limited to strategic business planning, trade investment, direct customer engagement and enable the execution of global commercial policies / frameworks.
  • Support Director of Strategic Account Acceleration with commercial framework development representing the needs of these key accounts, reflecting the needs of relevant international markets (US, LAM, APAC, EU, Emerging Markets, Russia).
  • Build productive relationships at a Global, Market and Local Key Account level to enable the customer teams execute global policies with impact and excellence.
  • You will lead the global DPC organization on behalf of named accounts with regards to Commercial / strategic account processes as it pertains to other DPC teams including Business Analytics, Centre of Expertise (Performance Marketing) and other wholesale teams.
  • Acting as global point of contact (POC) and champion at headquarters to innovate adidas / Reebok processes to positively impact all commercial policies / processes, including Sell in, Sell Out, Supply Chain, Resourcing choices and Performance Management.
  • Playing a lead role in facilitating, creating and sharing best practices across markets, optimizing tools to fit the needs of the key account to enhance consumer experience and drive conversion.
  • Monitoring and facilitating cross-border activities and coordinate new market expansion with local account teams.
  • Understand & consult with Global, Market & Account teams on the account specific path-to-purchase and needs to drive innovation in global product and marketing creation strategies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Deep understanding of key Digital success metrics (conversion, click-through rate etc) and retailer’s financial metrics (sales, inventory, margin, returns etc).
  • Familiarity / ownership with wholesale customer P&L and revenue management activities that unlock profit growth (preferably in eCommerce).
  • Experience of building and executing successful joint business plans with Key Accounts
  • Experience in leading and managing teams involving diverse sets of stakeholders from different functions and nationalities.
  • Exceptional relationship building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • University degree in the field of Business or equivalent
  • Fluent English, both verbally and written.


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • 6+ years of professional experience within international key account management, a relevant category (Sports, Fashion, FMCG, Beauty) preferred
  • 3+ years of Key Account Management experience in eCommerce, with large Pure Player or Marketplace (e.g. Amazon) an advantage.
