Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


The goal of the eCommerce (eCom) team is to deliver one integrated consumer journey to create premium and seamless experience at every touch point that exceeds our consumer’s expectation while meeting our targets.The SEO Manager optimizes site and content structure to to match  natural consumer word trends and plans, executes and reinforces project management lifecycle within Consumer Experience team.

SEO manager will fully support and drive Japan objectives, namely, to accelerate eCom business growth by optimizing Organic Search operational activities to establish adidas and Reebok eShops as the online destinations of choice.  In addition, the SEO Manager optimizes high performance traffic to Market place stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define KPIs, strategies and project roadmap for acquiring quality organic traffic to the eCom site. 
  • Monitor and report performance and results of various projects of organic traffic acquisition to eCom team, Brand adidas Digital Activation team and  Global SEO team.
  • Utilize analytics to make data-driven decisions around what will best serve our consumers, increase organic presence and improve business KPIs with the support of eCom Analytics team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global SEO team to drive initiatives for site architecture, taxonomy and content impacting organic traffic.
  • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders in the creation of optimized content to support ongoing activities and tactical campaigns.
  • Identify and connect with key stakeholders in the markets to drive offsite initiatives while leveraging Global SEO team to drive the right processes and training for eCom.
  • Apply the latest and best cases in marketplace in collaboration with the Platform team and consult the improvement in search traffic within Marketplace.
  • Plan objectives, deliverables and timelines of the projects in .com&CX team with Senior Manager and facilitate the project management process in the .com&CX team.
  • Collaborating with Brand adidas Digital Activation team, Media Activation team and eCom functions, identify issues in consumer experience and improve performance of eCom site.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to communicate throughout all levels of an organization both technical and non-technical information and to promote ‘Organic Search’ across the business
  • Proven track record of working with key Organic Search data tools (Google/Bing webmaster tools, Microsoft Excel, Google Analytics, SEO rankings platforms, etc)
  • Proven track record of driving both strategy and execution with examples of highly successful international organic search optimization projects
  • Understand the impact of social media and PR on Organic Search performance and leverage know-how to drive growth
  • Have experiences working on Organic Search content and technical projects (URLs, Meta tags improvements, copy/translations optimization)
  • Analytical and independent problem-solving skills to moderate complex problems
  • Team player with ability to define and guide the team to drive projects with minimum supervision and management
  • Have strong project management and organizational skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent professional experience, ideally in eCommerce
  • Have strong, well-rounded knowledge of Organic Search and project management with a minimum of 3-5 years experience either in-house or at an agency
  • Conduct analysis with web analytics suites and Google search console
  • A/B testing (Split testing or bucket testing) experience
  • Strong oral and written English communication and presentation skills
  • Business level English and native level Japanese skills are required
