VP Brand Communications - Performance (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

In line with the relevant category SBPs and overall brand direction, own and steer the development of a consistent proposition across the performance label by crafting compelling stories that will engage and inspire consumers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Partner with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the development of all performance category consumer definition, positioning and annual marketing plan for all levels of consumer facing activation
  • Ensure that the brand vision is translated into clear plans and processes at the label and category level
  • Ensure the consistent execution of campaigns across all major consumer touchpoints and channels
  • Partner closely with respective category leads to ensure effective planning, budgeting and redeployment of comms resources across the label
  • Preside over and be held accountable for the plans and creation of all lead agency briefing for development of marketing concepts for implementation through-the-line of communication at the global level.
  • Contribute to the increased global brand consistency and execution across all labels through integration, collaboration and cross-functional partnership with label and Brand Comms leaders.
  • Lead the creation and approval of annual label communication plan for category creative, strategy and briefing to partners, vendors and markets in relation to its execution
  • Own the planning, allocation and tracking of annual MWB for label.
  • Contribute to brand milestones content and presentations including MPSO BSO, THO and GTM SO
  • Partner with the VP Brand Communications to ensure category activation plans adhere to brand guidance, MWB secured and aligned with overall annual brand calendar and priorities
  • Ensure category presentations to consumer are consistent with vision and on brand for adidas
  • Support local markets in the activation of annual category plans
  • Track the success of marketing communications within key markets, subsidiaries and countries to ensure learning’s and future implementation
  • Lead the development of high-class comms talent across the Performance label to ensure the advancement of next generation of adidas leadership. This includes, but is not limited to: development plans, performance conversations, and day-to-day teaching and guidance
  •  Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven level of strategic thinking and leadership at a senior level.
  • Proven understanding of consumer messaging, brand building, demand creation and planning.
  • Proven high level of project management, budget management and scheduling.
  • Ability to manage and lead internal and external multidisciplinary groups: product marketing, advertising, PR, digital, retail, etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present to internal/external audiences of 100+ people, including senior management audiences
  • Broad understanding of the sports industry and a passion for it

 

 

   Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in PR, Marketing Communications and/or a related field. Master or MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience at leading an integrated team and activation marketing vision at the international level
  • Proven experience leading and activation of integrated brand communication at the local market level is preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience, either internationally or at local market level. Minimum 8 years of experience in team leadership/management.
