VP Brand Strategy (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Shape the future of the brand by leading the execution of the SBP, assuming full ownership of milestones from Strategy Kickoff to Brand Signoff and leading key strategic initiatives for the Brand. In addition, to drive the sustainability strategy and execution in collaboration with the BUs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate world class consumer insights and framework (e.g. consumer profiles, brand NPS, Experience NPS, Trends) and lead creation of tools and cascade through the organization to guide and support the business
  • Analyze market trends and industry insights and feed into annual strategy cycle
  • Lead Open Source strategic choice and steer implementation (in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships) to generate and incubate new strategic collaboration into the business
  • Lead strategy creation process (2+ year perspective), validate “new ideas-concepts” in collaboration with blue box functions, define business models and drive end2end implementation in collaboration with Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Drive strategic projects in cooperation with PMO that enable key SBP strategic choices and focus initiatives, e.g. Cities, Speed and Women
  • Oversee strategic planning and monitor progress within BUs and Functions in collaboration with PMO and BU Strategy teams
  • Track Brand SBP execution and ensure Brand strategy is reflected in BU/Market/Function SBPs in collaboration with PMO and BU Strategy team
  • Drive and execute our Sustainability Strategy including the oversight on our strategic partnerships (e.g., Parley)
  • Build and lead a highly engaged team and provide the platform for long-term, (cross)-functional careers
  • Manage investment related to consumer and industry insights and steer investment related to Open Source.
  • Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree/marketing (Master or MBA preferred)
  • Min. 12 years of progressive experience in SGI on management/executive level
  • Min 8 years leadership of diverse & global teams in a matrix organization
  • Proven track record in Marketing or related functions
  • Proven track record in Strategy creation and implementation
