VP CIO Office & Transformation (m/f/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:


Works with the CIO in defining and executing the technology strategy, as well as driving the continuous evolution of the Tech organization. This includes particularly driving and measuring the progress of the transformation into a product-led operating model. Furthermore, he/she manages further organization-wide programs through PMO activities, ensures transparent communications of the CIO vision with the whole organization and fosters IT innovation.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategy & Projects, Portfolio Management

  • Leads and manages the creation or review of a strategy for the global Tech organization.
  • Plans, directs, and co-ordinates activities to manage and implement complex programmes from contract /proposal initiation to full integration with “business as usual”.
  • Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the programme, ensuring that there are appropriate and effective governance arrangements, supported by comprehensive reporting and communication.
  • Plans and leads the identification and assessment of new and emerging technologies and the evaluation of the potential impacts, threats and opportunities.
  • Develops organisational guidelines for monitoring emerging technologies.
  • Ensures that there is a business perspective on how new technical capabilities will be integrated into the business, including planning around key business cycles, selecting appropriate customers for migration, etc.
  • Develops organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for business process improvement which allow the organisation to quickly improve and implement business processes to meet business requirements.


Organizational Transformation

  • Champions the value of new ways of working to address internal and external opportunities and threats arising from changes in technology, society and business models.
  • Sets direction and leads in the introduction and use of organisation design techniques, methodologies and tools to change and improve organisation structures and culture to deliver business outcomes.
  • Plans and leads organisation design activities; identifies alternatives, assesses feasibility, and recommends solutions.
  • Identifies major changes affecting the organisation and mobilises resources to implement changes. Initiates the definition of new organisation boundaries, and creates future organisation design, including location strategy and the number of locations required.
  • Outlines performance measurement objectives and the high-level implementation approach.
  • Obtains organisational commitment to innovation and develops and implements relevant capabilities, processes, networks, tools and frameworks across the organisation globally.
  • Seeks out, identifies, proposes, and initiates capability improvement activities within the organisation typically driven by the need to enhance performance, satisfy new business opportunities or to respond to external drivers.


Strategic Vendor Management

  • Takes responsibility for a significant consultancy practice, including practice development, proposals/sales to internal or external clients, account management and managing the delivery of consultancy services over a wide range of topics.
  • Establish and operate a global demand- and capacity management process, ensuring that internal and external resources can be obtained and allocated to meet strategic and operational business demand.
  • Provide visibility on spending on external resources on a global level, allowing regular cost reviews and enabling strategic decision-making regarding cost and resource allocation.
  • Identifying, piloting and evaluating efficient and innovative resourcing concepts for the Tech Hubs at key locations to ensure the availability of flexible, skilled and engaged workforce.



Enterprise IT Governance

  • Determines the requirements for the appropriate governance of enterprise IT, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and authority, goals and objectives.
  • Establishes and maintains the policies for compliance with the organisation's obligations (including legislation, regulatory, contractual and agreed standards/policies), holding the management team to account.
  • Acts as the organisation's contact for relevant regulatory authorities.


People Management / Resource Management


  • Takes overall responsibility for resource planning, recruitment, selection, assessment, on-boarding and transitioning of resources.
  • Ensure appropriate leadership skills are present at every level through creating a motivational and supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained and provided with career opportunities through development
  • Continuously monitors and evaluates team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of IT systems, data and analysis and team feedback and makes appropriate changes to meet business needs.


Provides team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets that are aligned with business needs and GIT objectives

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • Four-year college or university degree with focus on Business Administration or IT or related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient spoken and written command of English
  • 12-years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Consultancy experience preferred
  • International mindset
  • Cross-functional exposure
