VP Franchise Retail Operations

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Develop franchise ops strategy in line with GCA strategy;
  • Develop franchise ops capabilities for both franchise HQ & Regional Team
  • Drive execution excellence at national level on VM, ISC, Retail Ops, Sell Through and etc.


Key Responsibilities:

Planning and Strategy

  • Develop franchise ops strategy in line with overall company strategy and account development strategy
  • Develop overall franchise ops program roll out plan includes
    • rollout phase plan
    • POSs selection criteria
    • Building retail KPIs
    • integration of related functional action plans
  1. Decide sell-thru incentive budget allocation and provide a sell thru incentive framework to regional team,
  2. Design the franchise ops KPIs.
  3. Develop annual franchise ops plan together with account management team to ensure our accounts and customers are well served from franchise ops perspective in achieving aligned business targets;


Franchise Operations

  1. Oversee key performances indices of all key POSs/customers and ensure joint action plans are formulated to turnaround the POSs with region.
  2. Provide a monthly functional performance overview to all key internal stakeholders.
  3. Drive quarterly functional and performance review and shop visits regional franchise ops team
  4. Ensure knowledge/best practices transfer from owned retail to franchise operations and customers with necessary adaptations if necessary.
  5. Guide and monitor the execution of regional franchise operations coverage plans include
  • roll out phase plan
  • POSs/customers selection
  • Implement retail operations processes, i.e. meetings, shop visits, KPIs monitoring, analysis and action plans.
  • Implement visual merchandising training and plan to achieve high standards consistently.
  • Manage the Mystery Shoppers’ Program with vendor, region and retail training.
  • Manage footfall counter investment with Retail Development and region.
  • Oversee effectiveness of the retail marketing investment; track and report KPIs performance.

Visual Merchandising

  • Manage the visual merchandising training calendar to the region.
  • Ensure that the regional visual merchandising team complies with the adidas standards and guidelines through effective management of both customer and outsourced visual merchandisers.


  • Work with retail academy on the training calendar and framework for the market includes retail operations, product knowledge, retail management, and visual merchandising.
  • Implement relevant owned retail SHINE program with customers.

Retail Development

  • Get involved in space plan of all POSs to align with retail excellence program.


  1. Responsible for the sell thru incentive budget and its effectiveness
  2. Responsible for franchise Ops HQ teams OPEX incl. T&E,

People Management

  1. Recruit, coach and develop national Franchise Operations teams
  2. Monitors the KPI of the whole Franchise Ops team to manage the overall development of the Franchise Ops team


  1. Support training & development team to enable franchise operations with best practices from owned retail.


Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in business with marketing and sales focus
  • Over 15 years of proven retailing experience at senior level encompassing POS management and retail operations management with major Retail companies
  • Well-developed ability to develop, manage and guide POS activities and retailing capability development
  • Excellent business partnering skills and the ability to work closely and cohesively with sales and marketing teams
  • Excellent people management skill
