Vice President GBS Source to Pay (f/m/d)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:


  • Responsible for developing, defining and implementing the vision and strategy of the entire end-to-end GBS S2P function
  • Drive the transformation of S2P, working closely with SVP Non Trade Procurement and deliver planned savings from operations and spend control.
  • Accountable for the design, build and operate of the solution with markets and global functions
  • Co-creation of the functional strategy for Finance and future solutions like Robotics and Automation of the processes, no human touch processing of the invoices.
  • Accountable for the improvement and customer satisfaction related to the process, including delivery of the efficiency savings
    This includes also end-to-end solution governance, incl. enterprise model & process innovation (e.g. through IT enablers)


Key Responsibilities and General Accountabilities:


  • Defining, developing and implementing the vision, strategy and methods by which the organization conducts S2P and Travel & Expenses delivered by GBS
  • Create the vision and lead the transformation to the GBS S2P operating model
  • Drive strategic and financial targets for GBS S2P and be responsible for the targets delivery
  • Own all design, build & operate activities for the S2P solution during the full solution life-cycle & drive harmonization
  • Coordinate/drive decisions towards adoption and implementation of standard processes in order to limit deviations to the minimum
  • Work closely with No Trade Procurement and Travel leadership teams and with Finance Directors in the major markets to define strategy & operational improvements for S2P
  • Deliver productivity targets by implementation of robotics, AI, technologies and process simplification
  • Provide a comprehensive governance framework for the respective solution across channels, markets and systems
  • Drive change and end-to-end solution awareness amongst stakeholders and communities
  • Ensure that on-going requirements raised by markets/functions are adequately evaluated and considered
  • Align major functional scoping or solution design topics with functional and GBS leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement and automation including delivery of savings within the process
  • Deliver group standard process templates and ensure compliance with the local laws
  • Ensure usage of the standard process and tools across departments, streams, channels and markets
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction related to executed projects and operations delivery in the centers and co-chair customer board for S2P
  • Support Non-trade Procurement team in the implementation of new standards and preparation of processes to be moved to GBS
  • Ensure execution of the offshoring scope across all markets as per approved split
  • Define and implement the S2P organization in the centers and retained teams in the markets, including very clear roles and responsibilities, statements of works, charging models, communication with vendors and employees, etc.
  • Optimize of the delivery model over the time
  • Implement internal and external best practices
  • Ensure compliance for the process and correct segregation of duties
  • Act as a role model in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations as well as the adidas Fair Play Code of Conduct and other internal policies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent communication, people management and change management skills
  • Learning agility – able to learn fast when put in the stretch zone
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate strategy into concrete plans and deliverables
  • understanding of E2E-processes in Global Business Services with strong focus on S2P, including T&E and RPA.
  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize complex situation and develop innovative solutions within and changing environment
  • Ability to work and deliver in changing environments, under limited guidance while adhering to specified deadlines
  • Ability to guide teams in a trustful and proficient manner
  • Complete familiarity with Microsoft Office or equivalent tools
  • Full understanding of systems and tools in their area (deep knowledge of reporting tools)
  • Ability to manage complexity and diverse senior stakeholders
  • Multi-lense business acumen and knowledge from various business areas is required
  • Ability to coordinate solution governance (incl. build of enterprise model, functional advice for process content and sub-processes), data for the end-to-end solution and prioritize demand
  • Vision and skills to define guidelines for solution building & delivery
  • Taking accountability for process quality, process review, compliance and status of enhancement projects / streams
  • Strong motivation and skills to drive standardization and efficiency within their process area



Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:


  • University degree or equivalent experience, preferable in finance or business. MBA would be advantage
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the area of S2P and/ or Shared Services including build or transformation of S2P function.
  • Experience with S2P systems implementation and providers in the field (including robotics)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in leading international teams
  • Strong experience in process improvement or transformation programs
  • Willingness to travel
