As the Merchandise Manager in the adidas Pacific (Australia and New Zealand) eCommerce team, you will bring to life our purpose and our mission through your leadership of the Merchandising function of our fastest-growing Business channel.

 

You will be responsible for maximising the profitability of the Australia and New Zealand eCommerce channel by leading effective buying and merchandising strategies and operations.  Your responsibilities include the development and implementation of merchandising best practices, leading in-season merchandise planning, assortment and roll-out strategies to deliver optimal online consumer shopping experiences, and the delivery of key strategic business goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Buying, Range and Inventory Management

 

  • Work with the eCommerce Senior Director and APAC/Global counterparts to shape the merchandising strategy. Identify and communicate local needs to relevant Local, APAC and Global stakeholders.
  • Own and execute the seasonal product forecasting process in accordance with the aligned key business milestones, engaging with Category Planning and Retail to ensure optimum DTC range and buy.
  • Ensure integration of budget investment and ratio management in all merchandising and range planning activities.
  • Manage and approve Open-To-Buy (OTB) to deliver both Net Sales (NS), Standard Margin (SM) and Inventory Days Lasting (IDL) targets.
  • Lead end-to-end in season management including stock cover and end of season stock management.
  • Oversee the optimal flow of merchandise incl. fulfilment of product/marketing introduction deadlines/capacity planning working cross functionally
  • Work jointly with eCom Consumer Experience team to ensure optimal merchandising and trading of stock.
  • Lead the merchandising strategy for the Partner Program business in collaboration with the Assistant Manager, eCommerce Platforms and Digital Partner Commerce (DPC) team such that the growth and profitability targets for the channel are met.
  • Steer the enhancement of all merchandising systems and tools to suit world class merchandising practise.
  • Identify promotional opportunities to drive sales and provide a competitive and exciting online experience for our member and customer
  • Drive regular analysis including pricing and mechanics to understand the competitive landscape
  • Utilise key merchandising reports that help evaluate the business, category, key franchise and division performance.

 

Leadership
 

  • Lead and develop the eCommerce merchandising team (2FTE) by providing coaching and continuous coaching, learning and development opportunities
  • Take ownership for Talent Management processes to grow, develop and retain talents.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations and individual goals.
  • Translate the company goals into team specific actions and business plans.
  • Ensure the team delivers on budgeted sales through continuous review of performance, inventory, and product trends

Previous experience and Education pre-requisites:
 

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience in identifying and improving profitability drivers
  • Buying experience essential with at least 7 years’ experience; Fashion and Sportwear industry is preferred.
  • End-to-end project management including goal setting, scoping, setting timelines, and execution to the plan
  • Experience in using data driven analysis to identify and solve problems, build business cases, and negotiate
  • Management experience of at least 1 direct report
