Assistant Manager Energy and Environment
PURPOSE AND GENERAL RELEVANCE TO THE ORGANIZATION:
Workplaces is responsible for the active management of the global real estate portfolio, including the leasing and transaction of all properties, the overall design, construction and operation of offices, showrooms and DCs for adidas.
Workplaces is responsible for leading the end to end decarbonization approach for Own Operations. This role is responsible for supporting energy, water and waste-related activities across the defined scope of Own Operations (administrative offices, distribution centres, production facilities, own retail stores) for the EU & EM region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the timely, complete and accurate reporting of energy, waste and water data for corporate and retail locations into the Emeret and Smartsheet systems in line with defined deadlines throughout the year
- Assist in upskilling and supporting local facility management teams to ensure timely, accurate and complete energy, waste and water data reporting
- Provide active support in the pursuit of adidas’ globally set targets for own operations in energy and emissions, water and waste
- Provide support in the planning, budgeting and tracking of projects related to achieving adidas’ targets for energy, waste and water
- Ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations by obtaining an understanding of environmental topics as they pertain to EU and EM locations and being available to support when ad-hoc requests arise
- Support compliance with Global IMS certification, including internal and external audits, with a focus on energy and environmental management system standards (ISO 50001/ISO 14001) for owned operations in the respective region

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Great commitment to sustainability and environmental protection
- Experience in the management of environmental data. Audit experience a plus
- Experience in stakeholder management and proven ability to convince leadership of environmental agenda items
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with different international cultures
- Good communication (both written and verbal)
- Friendly and helpful demeanor, ability to work in a team, service-oriented
- Strong Excel analysis skills, knowledge of Smartsheet is a plus
- Fluent in written and spoken English, good knowledge of a second foreign language is an advantage
- Ability to travel as needed
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completed university degree with a focus on energy and environment, project management or facility management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience in related field
- Interest in and knowledge of regional energy markets and trends
- Experience with and knowledge of governance principles for data integrity and reporting processes
