Digital Merchandising Manager

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

As part of the Digital Merchandising Team within the EU eCom Consumer Experience organization, this role is responsible of creation and optimization of digital merchandising strategy on key shopping journeys across the adidas digital ecosystem in Europe, with the focus on .com and flagship App. This role requires strong communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as an ability to turn consumer data into deliverable onsite optimizations.

 

The ideal candidate is expected to have a background in digital merchandising and/or eCommerce site experience, and understand how digital merchandising can impact consumer behaviour, and drive onsite shopper engagement, conversion & retention.

 

Key Responsibilities / Authorities:

 

  • Manage execution of digital merchandising strategy for the responsible category/categories on adidas.com and adidas App, and provide analysis and weekly/monthly reports of the category performance
  • Provide input into sitewide merchandising strategy (cross category) and adapt output to meet the needs of our consumers in local markets.
  • Contribute to market product range optimization based on global guidance and consumer demand and establish stakeholder processes for flagging any risks and/or opportunities.
  • Manage product sell-thru by utilizing merchandising toolset, with a focus on sorting rules, product placement, evergreen content, page content, third party vendors and site configuration.
  • Work with analytics team to ensure reporting and KPI framework for merchandising decisions and ongoing improvements that can be tracked and validated.
  • Work closely with Marketing Activation, CRM, Buying, Site Ops, Consumer Experience and other marketing channels to ensure wider cross-channel campaigns are translating into logical site experiences.
  • Manage merchandising based on monthly activation calendar and quarterly business priorities and ensure there are ongoing updates giving visibility on plans and business output to wider stakeholders and leadership team.
  • Contribute to onsite playbooks and best practices for common merchandising processes, ensuring we can adapt to seasonal differences and trends
  • Candidate requires a commercial critical eye on the respective categories and their trading performance, continuously driving optimizations and collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve our trading performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Creative and energetic team player who has a passion for digital merchandising and delivering data-based recommendations for quantifiable improvements
  • A good understanding in digital analytics is essential with analytical software such as Adobe, GA etc.
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Fluent English, both verbally and written

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in a digital merchandising or eCommerce site experience optimization role.
  • BA / BS in Merchandising, eCommerce, Finance, Business, Digital or related field (Master’s / Graduate qualification a plus)
  • Experience in digital analytics, specifically Adobe is a must.
