Ecom Demand Planning Manager

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE TO ORGANIZATION


Europe is one of the important markets of adidas together with DTC, Wholesale and AKA channels. Within the Europe set up there is a dedicated focus on the Direct to Consumer channel (e-commerce and Retail)

Your task as a Ecom Demand Planning Manager is, to be responsible for the business processes, to develop, align and implement future DP processes, secure the alignment with the IBP planning and considering the fast growing Direct to Consumer channel.

One of the most important aspect is securing that the demand plan will be in line with the strategy, to achieve and create availability and manage the inventory level best in class.

Therefore, it is an important pillar in the future growth for reaching the sales targets within the Europe DTC channel.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create meaningful analyses for the ecom merchandising team, on category development, compare to mirror and prior seasons and targets.
  • Take responsibility on the forecast (RDP), demonstrate initiative, by challenging and supporting the DTC Buying and planning team on their forecast (RDP) and IBP targets.
  • Actively manage the DTC planning book, create the best possible DP along the season including constrain supply situations.
  • Deliver timely updates, reports of the category development to Europe Ecom Senior Manager and overall Europe DP organization.
  • Support Net Sales targets for all supply chain issues (constrains, pull forward request, 1 shot production) on your respective categories, set priorities and secure that an aligned RDP on monthly level is handed over prior to respective Cut-off.
  • Continuous improvements of DTC Demand Planning processes and work close together with the DTC Senior Manager to ensure that projects and initiative are delivered successfully.
  • Work on enhancing overall RDP during pre-season and in-season periods together with the analyses and tools on hand.
  • Support DTC DP team with PS related topics such as pre-buy list, minimums etc.
  • Manage potential system updates related to DP team, learn and support accordingly.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and high attention to detail
  • Strong understanding and using data to make decisions and influence outcomes
  • Strong team player with proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve goals and objectives
  • Ability to be self-directed while working under tight deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to understand the strategic objectives of the DTC channel and KPIs into the financial/strategic goals
  • Lead and facilitate discussions in small groups
  • Clear understanding of DTC Buying & Planning processes, demand planning & supply chain principles
  • Advanced SAP knowledge (AFS & APO) and reporting (MSTR/Power BI)
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PP) and ability to learn and use internal database
  • Fluent in English, writing and speaking and preferably in another European language as well

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four year degree from college or university with an emphasis in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or Engineering.
  • 4+ years of work experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Finance or similar field, preferable in sporting goods or fast-moving consumer goods industries.
