Sports Marketing Intern – Football Players (6‑Month Internship)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Sports Marketing Players Trainee will join the Players Global Team with the primary objective of learning, developing, and gaining hands-on experience in the dynamic world of Sports Marketing. This role is designed as a structured learning opportunity for a motivated individual eager to build a strong foundation in athlete services, operational processes, and global sports marketing coordination.

Throughout the traineeship, the selected candidate will support the Players Global team in ensuring the smooth management of athlete-related services and processes. Under guidance, the trainee will gain exposure to key operational areas including credit card management, athlete servicing and gear coordination, player transfer processes, invoice handling, reporting support, and participation in global bonus program reviews.

This traineeship offers a valuable learning experience, equipping the candidate with the tools, knowledge, and hands-on exposure needed to understand how a global sports marketing department operates. Through structured onboarding, continuous feedback, and practical involvement in day-to-day processes, the trainee will develop strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced international environment. The objective is to prepare the individual to confidently step into a temporary team position should an opportunity arise.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about sports and athlete marketing, seeking to build a solid professional foundation within Sports Marketing.

Your Tasks

Athlete Services Support

• Assist in preparing and placing product orders in the Athlete Service Platform.
• Help coordinate footwear and apparel deliveries for key seasonal moments.
• Support product seedings and help organize storage, shipments, and documentation.
• Assist in preparing store visit materials and logistics.
• Support with credit card administrative tasks under guidance.
• Help produce simple contract‑related documents under supervision.
• Assist with invoice checks and coordination with Finance.

Operational & Reporting Support

• Help maintain and update internal tools, trackers, and calendars.
•  Support the creation of basic reports and presentations.
• Collect data for quarterly reports and global bonus program preparations.
• Track social media content and visibility of players.

Project Support

• Assist in preparing materials and logistics for Player team meetings and scouting meetings.
• Support cross‑functional collaboration by gathering and organizing information.
• Help with administrative tasks needed for ongoing initiatives.

Scouting Support

• Support the team with logistics and follow-up from youth tournament visits.
• Assist in gathering scouting information and updating internal tools.
• Conduct desktop research on emerging talent.
• Help collect background information under direction.

Your Profile

• Outstanding academic results with a planned graduation of your Bachelor's or Master's studies in the next 1-2 years 
• Enrolled for full internship duration, 1st September 2026- 28th February 2027
• Strong interest in football and sports marketing, in particular football product knowledge.
• Organized, reliable, detail‑oriented.
• Strong communication skills.
• Team‑player mindset with eagerness to learn.
• Good MS Office skills.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; other languages a plus.
• Affinity for digital tools and social media.
