Manager EU eCommerce Planning and Forecasting

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

As a Manager eCom Planning and Forecasting at adidas, you play a crucial role in shaping the company's digital market strategy through accurate planning and forecasting. You are responsible for developing, maintaining and running a cutting-edge planning and forecasting process ensuring high-quality data inputs and outputs. Your technical expertise and data-driven mindset enable you to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions and optimize performance.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Scope: Accountable for developing, maintaining and running the eCom business planning and forecasting processes, ensuring data accuracy, and providing actionable insights to support adidas' digital market objectives.

 

  1. Business Planning
  • Manage and execute the end-to-end lifecycle of business planning and forecasting processes for the Europe eCommerce business.
  • Participate in the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, providing realistic bottom-up forecasts to support the Finance team in creating official target submissions.
  • Support the business with daily demand targets and month-end projections to enable better decision-making and optimize business plans.
  • Develop and integrate automated models to reduce reliance on manual inputs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of business planning, target setting, budgeting, and campaign planning processes and data flows to effectively communicate and prioritize with stakeholders.

 

  1. Consulting
  • Develop strong relationships with business partners to understand their goals and objectives, outline analytic requirements, and provide solutions to business needs, ensuring high-quality inputs for forecast processes.
  • Actively identify opportunities and determine actions to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses and build business cases to facilitate insights into the business as needed.

 

  1. Reporting
  • Co-initiate and help implement new reporting structures within your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure data accuracy and quality across all outputs provided.
  • Continuously innovate reporting and tracking systems to enable stakeholders to monitor sales predictions, potential shortfalls, and future uplifts.

  1. Soft-Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of understanding and simplifying complex systems.
  • Ability to think creatively and to drive structured & practical solutions within the wider group.
  • Passion for delivering data-driven recommendations that lead to quantifiable improvements in business results and consumer satisfaction.
  • Good communication skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels, both in person and remotely.
  • Knowledge of financial and operational processes, and KPIs.
  • Team player and action oriented with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

 

2.      Hard-Skills

  • Proficient in using ETL tools such as Alteryx, Knime, and SPSS Modeler for projects/workstreams automation.
  • Extensive experience in business intelligence practices, including querying, enhancing, interpreting, and delivering moderate to large datasets (proficiency in SQL and coding skills preferred).
  • Expert in MS Excel.
  • Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in Python is a plus.

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • University degree in the field of Business, Finance or equivalent 
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics field
  • Experience in eCommerce environment is a plus
