Assistant Store Manager - Offsite Operations, Flagship, Secaucus, NJ

Purpose:

To ensure the Flagship store runs efficiently and effectively. This includes management of all stockroom systems, processes and facility management. He or she drives profitability of the store within the respective area of responsibility by controlling operational expenses. The core expectations include coaching team leaders to execute processes to ensure efficient movement of product, store equipment and systems are fully functional.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Maintain operational efficiency of all stock rooms to include all product movement processes.
  • Know and understand all store KPIs and financial results to make informed decisions for back of house (BOH) operations
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet consumers’ needs.
  • Lead, guide and direct stock room teams to flawlessly execute stock room standards.
  • Ensure product movement procedures are in place, efficient and executed daily.
  • Coach teams to prioritize merchandise flow to the sales floor based on replenishment needs.
  • Ensure all safety procedures and measures are in place according to local laws and company policy. Ensure team compliance and drive continuous improvement with all store operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure inventory tracking is properly maintained in BOH systems
  • Work closely with Loss Prevention Manager to identify gaps and opportunities to strengthen cash procedures thereby minimizing loss
  • Collaborate closely with corporate back office partners to ensure store needs are met and issues are resolved with speed and urgency
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained and appropriate development is provided
  • Adopt a strategic view of the store while ensuring the tactical and fiscal integrity of the store.
  • Create and drive a service culture by ensuring all activities are centered on the consumer.
  • Positively communicate and actively demonstrates the adidas Brand Values.
  • Prioritize and allocate maximum possible time to effectively use District Manager visits to develop and follow up on practical and achievable action plans.
  • Positively influence all business stakeholders by offering suggestions and ideas on ways to improve operations and processes.
  • Create a performance culture by setting clear expectations and targets, analyzing store performance, and holding team accountable by giving appropriate and prompt feedback, including actively managing poor performance.
  • Coach, motivate, and inspire Team Leads to accomplish store goals and maximize their individual performance.
  • Ensure team compliance and drive continuous improvement with all store operational policies and procedures.
  • Lead service by example and ensure highly visible and effective customer service management at all times.
  • Actively collaborate and share best practices with peers to drive performance.
  • Communicate a desire to learn and seize all available opportunities to drive own development and increase performance.

 

 

Knowledge, Capabilities and Experience:

 

  • Must possess and consistently exhibit the competencies relative to the position.
  • Excellent Skills in operating personal computers, POS systems, and various software packages including MS office.
  • Knowledge and understanding of profit and loss statement and store KPIs to make business decisions based on sound financial judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to lead discussions in diverse groups of varying size.
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills as well as the ability to use good judgment and make strong independent decisions.
  • Demonstrates an inspirational attitude that contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members along with willingness to set and maintain high standards of performance.
  • Well-developed ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write English
  • Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proven ability in managing high level retail image and delivering consumer in-store experience.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work for long periods of time, typically 10-12 hours per day during peak seasonal periods

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 4 year college or university degree in business, retail management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a sports/fashion customer & business focused retail environment with a minimum 3 years of Store Management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Geographical mobility is preferred.
