Brand Communications Manager - New Zealand

Join adidas as a key player in shaping our brand narrative across Aotearoa. As Brand Communications Manager – New Zealand, you will lead the charge in activating the adidas brand locally across PR, campaigns, events, and digital storytelling. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Brand Communications, PR & Media, you'll own and execute the marketing calendar for high-impact brand and category moments – from Rugby and Originals to Running and Sportswear.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the local PR strategy: Drive always-on media storytelling and manage the PR agency partnership.
  • Execute brand campaigns: Collaborate across teams to deliver impactful activations in New Zealand aligned with global direction.
  • Own social content: Manage all content and performance of the adidas Aotearoa Instagram channel.
  • Drive partner and athlete activations: Support social publishing and creative across brand and sports marketing.
  • Support paid media: Oversee asset development and ensure effective media execution.
  • Deliver retail activations: Support in-store moments and event experiences aligned with DTC goals.
  • Budget management: Efficiently manage budget in line with internal guidelines.
  • Champion brand standards: Ensure consistency and excellence in all brand touchpoints.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • 5–8 years of marketing experience, with a strong foundation in brand communications and PR.
  • Proven success in leading integrated marketing campaigns across digital, PR, retail, and events.
  • Excellent project management and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
  • Working knowledge of the New Zealand media landscape.
  • Budget management experience and a sharp eye for detail.
  • A genuine passion for sport, culture, and innovation.

  • Proven effective utilization of MAEX (Marketing Budget)
  • PR KPIs (Media Reach and Brand Buzz)
  • Brand Media KPIs (Unaided Awareness, Reach)
  • Successful development and execution of New Zealand brand communications strategy.

 

Requisite education and Experience/ qualifications

 

  • University degree in business / marketing / communications.
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge – brand marketing, consumer Brand experience and event management.
