What You’ll Be Doing:

 

As the Retail District Trainer, your main goal is to boost our store’s success through world-class training and development. From creating engaging onboarding programs for new hires, upskilling our leaders and teams cross-functionally and executing seasonal product learning initiatives, you’ll ensure that our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

 

You will:

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and execution of various retail training programs, ensuring they’re engaging, informative, and tailored to our store team.

  • Coach and upskill the Store Leaders and In-Store Trainers to drive a high-performance culture, ensuring they meet training standards through a variety of channels like workshops, online tools, and team sessions.

  • Monitor and analyze performance data and make any necessary adjustments to drive commercial success, primarily within learning and development.

  • Supervise and support the team to ensure optimal service and operational efficiency at all times.

  • Collaborate with local and global training teams to ensure alignment and consistency in all learning initiatives.

  • Be a true Brand Ambassador—representing our values and attitude both in and out of the store.

  • Support the store team with daily operations, including selling & service, visual merchandising, stock management, and loss prevention procedures.

  • Plan and implement engaging and effective onboarding programs for new joiners to the business in alignment with the Store Manager and District Manager.

  • Play a key role in new store openings and help shape onboarding programs to get new employees set up for success.

 

What You Bring to the Table:

To thrive in this role, you’ll need a blend of hands-on retail experience, leadership skills, and a passion for helping others succeed. Key skills we’re looking for:

  • Retail Expertise: Experience leading a retail environment, preferably in sports or fashion, and you have a solid understanding of sales, product knowledge, and store operations.

  • Training & Coaching: You’ve led training sessions, workshops, or similar initiatives, and you’re great at engaging people and bringing out their best.

  • KPI-Driven: You understand how to track performance, analyze data, and make adjustments to achieve goals.

  • Leadership: You have experience influencing peers and working closely with management to deliver results.

  • Communication Skills: You’re a pro at communicating clearly and effectively, whether you’re leading a team or engaging with customers.

  • Problem Solver: You have the tenacity to exceed targets and solve challenges creatively.

Requirements: 

  • Must have own vehicle and valid license as there is a lot of travelling between sites

  • Auckland based, with flexibility to travel to the South Island as required/needed - must be ok with flying as that's how you'll get there! 

  • Store Manager, or (Senior) Assistant Store Manager experience as you will need to be able to confidently train and develop all store team inclusive of store leaders.
