Senior Specialist GBS Accounting

Within GBS, The Tax accounting team plays a key role in ensuring full tax compliance and accuracy across markets and business processes. It supports the organization by driving standardization, automation, and process optimization in tax-related activities. Through close collaboration with finance, accounting, and technology teams, Tax accounting helps reduce risks, improve data quality, and enable timely reporting and decision-making. Ultimately, the team contributes to operational efficiency and ensures that the company meets its legal and regulatory obligations in every jurisdiction. The Senior Specialist GBS Taxes is responsible for executing tax accounting tasks such as VAT postings, VAT accounts reconciliation, analyzing differences, evaluate possible risks in several areas through internal controls (e.g. invoice processing, cash flow) and support on accounting and tax requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage timely the preparation of complex / high volume Tax declarations from beginning to end, including data extraction, controls, input, review, submission, payment and documentation.
- Ensure that Tax accounts are correct and reconciled with declarations and P&L
- Fiscal Books preparation and analysis
- Support month and closing procedures
- Act as point of contact for tax matters and foster knowledge within GBS
- Clarify major compliance exceptions and keep up to date documentation of issues and resolutions
- Knowledge and monitoring of tax and legal changes
- Execution of tax controls and advanced analytics
- Follow up on findings and prevent recurrences
- Preparation of requested electronic data files for audits
- Keep filing system up to date according to business requirement needs and in line with the
registrations in the respective jurisdictions
- Clarify major compliance exceptions and keep up to date documentation of issues and resolutions

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, fiscal, legal, or comparable professional education.
- At least 3 years of experience in similar functions.
- Experience in Taxes.
- Experience in SAP is an advantage.
- Experience in Shared Service environment is an advantage.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directed individual.
- Practical experience with Tax (Direct and Indirect Taxes)
- Critical thinking mindset
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
