Specialist Credit (Portuguese) 1
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
At adidas, every role counts in driving our purpose forward. As a Credit Specialist at adidas, you’ll help manage the day-to-day flow of customer payments. You’ll review orders, check credit limits, follow up on overdue invoices, and make sure accounts stay up to date. By working closely with sales teams and customers, you’ll help prevent payment issues and keep things running smoothly for every market we serve in Latin América. Your role is key to making sure adidas has the cash it needs to grow, innovate, and deliver on our mission: Through sport, we have the power to change lives.
Key Responsibilities and General Accountabilities:
• Manage medium-sized Customer Portfolio.
• Drive timely and proactive collections, solving root causes of non-payment and following up on overdue invoices with customers.
• Regularly assess customer credit risk and recommend right-sized credit limits that support business growth.
• Own the daily SAP credit-hold queue and enable timely, policy-compliant release of sales orders / delivery notes, keeping sales moving without compromising risk.
• Provide Sales and Finance with timely insights on the evolution of customer A/R.
• Manage cross-functional and external stakeholder relationships (Customers, Finance, Customer Service, Accounting, Sales).
• Identify improvement opportunities and generate ideas for their implementation.
• Maintain a healthy A/R portfolio by keeping >90-day past-due below target.
• Provide insight into the calculation of the required provision for uncollectable balances.
• Support ongoing technology implementation projects.
• Ensure control-supporting data and documentation are complete, accurate, reliable, and compliant with policy.
• Support internal and external audits year-round with timely evidence, reconciliations, and responses.
• Support the Team Lead with KPI reporting and track improvement initiatives to closure.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Good Finance Acumen.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience in a Shared Service environment or similar.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English, Spanish & Portuguese in a business setting.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail and high degree of customer orientation.
• Good Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and self-directed individual.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Curious and growth mindset; keen to learn and eager to find solutions outside of the comfort zone.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
• University degree.
• 2 plus years relevant work experience in the accounting / business area.
• Broad and deep theoretical understanding of job function.
