Sr. Manager HSEE LAM

The Workplaces function leads the end‑to‑end decarbonization approach and the HSEE (Health, Safety, Environment & Energy) strategy for adidas’ own operations. It plays a critical role in delivering the 2030 sustainability and H&S targets, influencing overall company performance, compliance, and reputation.

The Senior Manager HSEE leads the overarching HSEE agenda for Own Operations, ensuring the implementation and alignment of global planning standards, coordination frameworks, and strategic guidelines. Acting as representative of HSEE orchestrator, the Sr. Manager drives cross-functional collaboration, managing complex projects and strategic initiatives in partnership with diverse teams. The position plays a pivotal role in guiding transformation—embedding continuous improvement, elevating performance, and fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational integrity across DCs, Offices and Retail. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor HSEE performance targets, including energy, carbon, water, waste, and health and safety KPIs for the LAM region.
Lead HSEE data collection and ensure data quality in compliance with global standards.
Drive HSEE performance measurement and implement the necessary performance targets, policies, and audits to achieve external certification goals.
Create and maintain a network within LAM to stay informed on key trends.
Ensure IMS certification by leading legal compliance registers and internal audits. Implement HSEE policies and track performance, ensuring local alignment on roles and responsibilities.
Drive sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon reduction initiatives related to buildings and operations to ensure the necessary performance improvements. Develop energy-related business cases for investment, cost transparency, and KPI tracking.
Implement written health and safety programs, ensuring safe working conditions for employees and compliance with applicable requirements.
Implement H&S risk strategies incorporating safety standards, policies, environmental practices, ergonomics, people risk, governance, investigations and management, and risk assessments.
Support adidas corporate and third‑party audit programs in collaboration with NTP and Legal to ensure compliance with local regulations and other legal requirements.

 

 

  • Captures, analyses, and reacts to safety metrics and reviews weekly and monthly incident trends to discover patterns on areas where the safety risk is highest.
  • Integrates H&S risk assessment within operations thereby assuring all initiatives at the site. Serve as a technical expert on Health & Safety legal matters and legislative trends.
  • Develop all required training materials. Collaborates with Operations and Training departments to ensure all employees receive the necessary training.
  • Ensure guidance, compliance and implementation for Energy assessments across LAM locations
  • Manage, coach, develop and train team members, input into performance reviews, provide feedback and allocate work considering complexity and experience level
  • Foster team behaviour that drives learning and continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Strategic mindset and ability to translate ideas into action
  • Strong ability to work in both a creative and structured/analytical capacity
  • Proven track record for implementing complex and cross functional projects
  • Thorough understanding of the complexity, interactions and dynamics within a large, international company
  • Very strong communication expertise, both written and verbal; ability to communicate and influence at the MD level
  • Business fluency in English and respective local languages (Portuguese is a plus)
  • Business travel (30%) will be required

Requisite Education and Experience:

  • University degree in Engineering with certified HSEE knowledge (mandatory).
  • Minimum 8 years of professional HSEE experience in a global organization, preferably in the sporting goods or facilities management sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing and developing diverse teams.
  •  Strong knowledge of regional health & safety regulations in LAM.
  • Internal auditor certification in ISO 50001 and ISO 45001 is mandatory.
  • Advanced English level (mandatory)
