Technology Director ( Digital Projects)

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The Director of Technology for Digital Latin America is responsible for defining and executing the strategic roadmap of projects within the digital ecosystem (eCommerce, marketplaces, and operational enhancements). This includes optimizing data infrastructure, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment with broader business goals. The role partners with senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure IT investments and digital initiatives evolve in line with business needs and comply with global standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans and drives scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization activities for large, complex initiatives.
  • Selects, adopts, and adapts appropriate requirements definition and management methods, tools, and techniques, choosing between predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
  • Obtains input from, and formal agreement to, requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Negotiates with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and resolve conflicts.
  • Establishes requirements baselines and ensures changes are properly investigated and managed.
  • Contributes to the development of organizational methods and standards.
  • Supports resource planning and may have full responsibility for the recruitment process.
  • Implements resource plans, including conducting recruitment interviews.
  • Facilitates selection, assessment, onboarding processes, and internal resource allocation.
  • Contributes to resource transitions, ensuring compliance with relevant statutory regulations and codes of good practice.
  • Promotes leadership development by creating a motivational and supportive work environment where employees are coached, trained, and offered career development opportunities.
  • Allocates work to employees based on experience, complexity, workload, and organizational efficiency.
  • Continuously monitors and evaluates team workload and organizational efficiency using IT systems, data analysis, and team feedback, making adjustments to meet business needs.
  • Provides team members and direct reports with clear direction and targets aligned with business needs and Global IT objectives.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • College or university degree in Business Administration, IT, or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience with digital ecosystems and eCommerce integrations
  • Excellent stakeholder management, strategic thinking, project management, and communication skills; highly detail-oriented and technologically savvy
  • Proficient spoken and written English
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT
  • At least 7 years of experience in a relevant area
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in team management
  • Participation in global project execution or significant contribution to local/functional projects
