Productivity Planning Analyst

Purpose:

Support DC operations as an advanced user of the warehouse management system (WMS) and the host systems that interface with the WMS to transmit transactional data.  The overall purpose of the role is to utilize this expertise to propose improvements to DC planning and processes, perform investigations into systemic issues impacting the DC’s ability to meet company expectations and customer requirements. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the local expert and general resource for DC Operations staff to answer questions and share system's knowledge.
  • Perform inquiries in host systems as needed to assist in understanding customer requirements, including but not limited to; EDI transactions, VAS and routing.
  • Act as the main point of contact in the DC for IT and other supply chain departments to coordinate DC requirements for testing related to system upgrades and issues fixes.
  • Participate in meetings with DC Operations staff and local IT staff as needed to identify and resolve systemic issues affecting DC performance.
  • Coordinate with IT and Customer Service to ensure that all date fields are always aligned correctly to ensure that OTIF reporting is accurately measuring as it is intended to.
  • Communicate effectively with other supply chain departments to assist in improving the overall understanding of the DC WMS and its interactions with the host systems.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous process improvement in the DC based on an expert’s level systems knowledge.
  • Continuously evolve knowledge of all required systems by participating in training provided
  • and engaging with users in other departments to learn from their expertise.
  • Be the point of contact for research on shortages, substitutions.
  • Daily Productivity Planning reporting
  • Other duties as required and directed by the Sr. Manager, Distribution

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong aptitude for understanding complex, integrated information systems.
  • Strong knowledge of WMS and ERP principles.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of DC operations, including storage methods and material flow.
  • Effective organization, communication and meeting skills
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and written. 

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with information systems to provide analysis, complete research and perform testing.
  • Previous experience in a role designated as a system “Super User” is an asset.
  • University/college degree or demonstrated equivalent skills obtained through previous work experience.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
