Corporate Communications Manager - EM South
Job Purpose
The Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies that support the business priorities of EM South. Working closely with the General Manager (GM), Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and the Emerging Markets (EM) Corporate Communications team, this role helps strengthen corporate reputation, drive stakeholder engagement, and deliver compelling business storytelling across internal and external channels.
The role plays a key part in enhancing the organization's reputation, fostering employee engagement, and positioning the business through clear, consistent, and impactful communications. By partnering with leaders across the organization, the Corporate Communications Manager ensures communications support business objectives, reinforce strategic priorities, and strengthen engagement with both internal and selected external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Advisory
- Develop and execute communications strategies aligned to business priorities.
- Partner with the GM and SLT to provide communications support, guidance, and messaging recommendations.
- Support communications planning for complex or sensitive business topics, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.
- Contribute to broader Emerging Markets (EM) communications initiatives and support regional or cross-market projects.
Internal Communications
- Develop and execute internal communications plans that support business objectives and employee engagement.
- Drive communication planning and delivery across:
- Major sports events and sponsorship activations
- Key campaigns and product launches
- Quarterly results and All Employee Meetings (AEMs)
- Business updates, strategic initiatives, and transformation programs
- HR initiatives, workplace programs, and employee engagement efforts
- Ensure communications are timely, engaging, and consistent across all internal channels.
External Communications & Reputation Management
- Support selected external corporate communications initiatives that strengthen brand visibility and corporate reputation.
- Build and maintain relationships with media and key external stakeholders.
- Support corporate relations engagements (Government, Partners, Industry bodies, etc.) ensuring alignment with corporate messaging.
Business Storytelling & Brand Positioning
- Develop compelling business narratives that reflect the organization's strategy, values, and performance.
- Support integrated storytelling that strengthens the cluster's positioning across markets and stakeholders.
- Create strategic content and messaging that enhances leadership visibility.
Crisis & Change Management
- Support crisis and change communications planning and response in partnership with the Director: Corporate Communications EM.
- Assist in maintaining crisis communications frameworks and preparedness plans.
- Help deliver timely, transparent, and effective communications during high-impact situations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with the SLT, EM Communications, Marketing, HR, and other key stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across functions to align communication priorities and messaging.
- Share communications best practices and contribute to capability building across the business.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 7- 10 years' progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, brand communications, or a related discipline.
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and supporting leadership communications.
- Strong media relations experience and understanding of the communications landscape.
- Experience supporting crisis communications and reputation management.
- Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization is highly advantageous.
