Assistant Manager Digital Marketing (6-7 month ltd)

adidas.com and @adidasgolf social channels play a critical role in our brand ecosystem. adidas.com is our flagship store on every device and the go to destination for our consumers when shopping the adidas brand. It is an omnichannel driver and influences sales across all channels, helping consumers to make better purchasing decisions no matter where the final sale is completed. Social media is a direct line to our most plugged-in consumers. It is the most influential virtual space where we can connect through brand storytelling. Both channels are highly accessible therefore need to deliver the most premium brand experience.

The Associate Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for driving the global social media and the global content strategy for the channel. They will set markets up for success ensuring they have the content needed to support key stories across touchpoints and paid social campaigns creating seamless look and feel across the globe.

To achieve positioning adidas as a digital leader in the golf category, the Associate Digital Marketing Manager key objectives focus on the following:

  1. Plan key global campaigns to deliver a premium brand and commercial experience on our owned social media to support key stories, help drive traffic and increase membership while delivering a seamless, best in class consumer experience.
  1. Manage and execute the global social media go-to-market strategy for product launches, hype stories and key commercial drops.
  1. Act as key integrator between Global Brand Management and Market teams to drive effective social media marketing plans delivering omnichannel direction with an integrated direct to consumer marketing approach that is inclusive of Market input and story relevance.
  2. Drive communication and alignment with global digital publishing managers, global sports marketing, and brand partners (Athletes and influencers).  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement strategy, guidelines, and process to facilitate seamless and connected social media and key story content planning
  • Work with Global Brand Comms and Sports Marketing in the process of content & connection planning for key brand and commercial campaigns
  • Drive KPI accountability for content performance across social media, using available dashboards and tools to drive reporting and learning
  • Bring a diverse and inclusive perspective to content discussions and working practices, including engaging with new contributors and staying up to date on current on issues happening in the world and social space to bring awareness to leadership team
  • Lead social content capture opportunities at campaign and athlete photoshoots
  • Manage development of the global Social Media calendar that aligns with key product launches and campaigns across all markets ensuring content is fit-for-platform
  • Get market input/feedback to slot in market specific content based on key campaign/product launch timings
  • Research trends and analyze previous performance to influence and evolve the content strategy to submit Global Campaign briefs to brand design team
  • Manage @adidasgolf posting calendar and global content distribution to regional counterparts.  
  • Assist in identifying content opportunities that engage existing audiences and develop new audiences; overseeing the creative process around those opportunities from ideation through delivery, ensuring it remains true to the adidas brand globally
  • Community Management: Humanize the brand and set us apart from competitors by always listening & actively engaging as the most progressive/inclusive brand in golf and flagging customer service opportunities
  • Execute BU’s reactive strategy to support athlete accomplishments on the PGA, LPGA and global Tours
  • Assist and execute Test & Learn Strategies on all social channels 
  • Manage brand and BU partner publishing campaigns in partnership with Sports Marketing from ideation to delivery, provide content and copy direction to ensure message is tailored to the athlete and aligns with the adidas brand
  • Work cross-functionally with global partner publishing team to ensure BU is informed and participating in global brand activations

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Brand enthusiast who understands where adidas should create online buzz
  • Experience with web analytics and ad serving platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
  • Aanalytical, logical and data driven
  • Motivated by testing and learning, evolving and improving the channel, and building your own channel knowledge and experience
  • Excellent (written and verbal) communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build strong relationships quickly as a result of a team-first mentality.
  • Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Diligence, accuracy, attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • Good relationship building skills; an ability to create rapport

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor or Masters degree required, 1-3 years in digital marketing and social marketing experience
  • Advanced computer skills with proven Excel experience.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Golf industry experience preferred

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $75k  - $85k. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
  • We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote.  The working location of this position is Carlsbad California. 
  • Though our teammates hail from all corners of the world, our working language is English.
