Director, Product Management- Classics

Purpose (Brief summary of why role exists):

The Director of Footwear Product Marketing sets the global vision for their category in line with the SBU’s strategic direction.  Lead the team to execute the categories vision and plans to drive the business forward.  

 

Key Accountabilities (List the 5-10 major areas of responsibility for role):

  • Product Strategy
  • Develop compelling, marketable category concepts, stories, and/or global vision that balance analysis with aesthetic
  • Create global category strategic plans, and seasonal plans and briefs that support overall brand and financial objectives
  • Ensure regional and key country insights are obtained and incorporated in global category briefing process
  • Ensure regions have correct product selection and implement global category strategies
  • Lead and manage cross-functional product line / global category process
  • Develop compelling, marketable category concepts, stories, and global vision
  • Assist / create product presentations for team, executives, GMM, and key milestone meetings
  • Manage Business (Processes and Projects)
  • Ensure overall adherence to product creation calendar and achievement of key milestones through critical decision-making and leadership
  • Resolve issues with the team relating to design, staff performance, or cross-functional problems
  • Industry, Market, and Consumer Acumen
  • Provide insight and analysis of consumer and marketing trends, competition, retail landscape, and cultural drivers affecting business dynamics
  • Analyze and summarize research data

  • Be an advocate for the category both internally and externally to ensure that proper resources are garnered
  • Build a high-performing team through selection, development, and day-to-day coaching of staff

  • Collaborate with merchandising teams to engage with accounts to develop and maintain partnerships that ensure Reebok's effective presence and presentation at retail

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to design, streamline, and optimize processes and workflows to ensure quality of entire commercialization process
  • Successfully partner with all other areas within and outside the department to ensure that stories, messages, and overall deliverables are in alignment with the entire department's goals

Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):  (Examples)

  1. 8-10 years’ experience in product management, at least 5 of which were in a management or leadership role (footwear preferred).
  2. Knowledge of product creation process essential.
  3. Bachelor degree in related field. MBA a plus.
  4. Ability to travel internationally
  5. Strong presentation skills (presenting to large groups expected)
  6. Ability to partner with, collaborate with, and influence internal and external business partners
